Class 3 and 4 Quarterfinal Predictions

In our first crack at predicting the Class 3 and 4 teams that we thought would advance to the quarterfinals, we were way off, picking only eight out of sixteen games right, and yes, we have heard plenty from players and coaches about it. But that won’t stop us from trying to pick who advances to the Final Four.

Upsets are what make high school baseball this time of year a great thing. The unpredictability of teams getting hot at the right time has been the key for upsets aplenty, and makes for a wide open run at the final four next week (and bulletin board material to try and prove us wrong).

So here we bring to you our sure to be wrong picks on who will advance to Springfield for the state championships.

Class 4

Cape Central over Rockwood Summit, 6-3, keeping their nine game win streak alive and riding their wave of confidence.

Liberty over Rockhurst, 7-5, ending Rockhurst’s run of upsets.

SLUH over Parkway North, 5-3, as SLUH finally gets over the hump to reach the final four and ending Parkway North’s very impressive run through the postseason.

Willard over Helias, 4-2, propelling Willard to the final four to play in front of the hometown crowd.

Class 3

Lutheran South over Kennett, 5-4, denying Kennett a second straight trip to the final four.

Savannah over Oak Grove, 7-3, giving Savannah a second straight trip to the final four.

Westminster over Mexico, 9-1, as Westminster looks to capture back-to-back Class 3 titles

Logan-Rogersville over Marshall, 6-2, carry a wave of momentum after a come back win in sectionals and wanting to play in front of a home town crowd.
