Friday morning saw the second of two games in the Class 6 State semifinals, which are being hosted by John Champe High School in Loudoun County. In the second game, Region B champ Colgan was taking on Region D Champ Herndon. Colgan started senior righty Ryan Kennedy (CNU) and Herndon went with junior righty Connor Godshalk

Herndon was able to scratch a run in the first inning as a pair of walks put two runners on and then Liam Willson (Wake Forest) scored on a pop-up just behind the infield that fell in to give Herndon an early 1-0 lead.

Colgan would score a run in the fourth to tie the game, which would ultimately roll into the tenth inning. Kennedy was relieve by 2022 Brandon Cassedy (CNU) and Ryan Morrison (CNU) and Ryan Marohn (NC State) would also pitch in this game as it remained tied throughout seven innings and into the tenth inning before Herndon won its fourth straight walk-off extra inning game on a Matt Neach (West VA Wesleyan) RBI single to right-center.
