PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Tanner: I chose Duluth because it was overall the best fit, I was extremely impressed by everything they had to offer athletically and academically, there was not one thing I didn’t like about it.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Tanner: I was considering Concordia St. Paul, Winona St., U. Of Mary, upper Iowa, bethel, and Gustavus.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?

Tanner: How did your relationship develop with him? They saw me at a showcase in Minnesota, they contacted me a couple days after and we had a couple calls and interactions.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Tanner: Yes, it does feel very relieving to get to focus just on getting prepared for college.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Tanner: I really liked what Coach Rients coaching style was, he has an amazing vision for Duluth baseball. There player development impressed me, and I felt that there is a great future for the team.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Tanner: God has been by my side throughout this whole thing, and I give all the glory and credit to him. “With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever,” Psalms 86:12

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Tanner: I didn’t really know what to expect, It was stressful but I just did my best to control what I could control, and that was just working hard and playing this game to the best of my ability.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Tanner: They want me to be a utility player and try to fit their specific needs in the field.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Tanner: Our high-school team winning the first ever SSC championship at Prior Lake.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Tanner: Nick Juaire
