Connecticut Spotlight Game: Fairfield Prep Jesuits vs Trumbull High School Eagles

In the first game of the 2016 Connecticut high school baseball season, top pitchers Joseph Nemcheck (Trumbull HS, 2016) and Grant Stone (Fairfield Prep, 2016) battled it out in the blistering cold and windy day.

Nemcheck was nearly perfect for 5.2 innings and led the Eagles to an 8-5 victory. Nemcheck finished the game with 2 pickoffs, 8 Ks and only allowed one 1 hit during his dominance on the mound.

Stone looked solid on the mound flashing a plus fastball and hitting spots with his curveball mix.

A big 2-run RBI by Robert Olah broke the 0-0 game open in the 3rd inning with a smash over the left fielder's head. Christopher O’Brien came through in the 6th inning with a huge blast to right center bringing in several more runs.
