Daily Roundup: April 15 Games



There was rain Monday morning, again, but that didn't stop teams from around the state to get on the field in an abbreviate Daily Game Round-up

No. 7 Ladue 4   Webster Groves 6
Ladue fell for the second time this season, this time at the hands of William Berkowitz and Webster Groves HS. Berkowitz kept the Ladue hitters off balance through six innings, striking out five and getting some help from the offense. In the top of the first inning, leadoff hitter Kelan Doria smacked the first pitch he saw over the left field wall. Doria finished the game 4-for4, crossing the plate three times. Kyle Uhrich also hit a long two-run homerun for Webster Groves.

Eric Atwell had a solo homerun in the first inning and an RBI single in the fourth to lead the Catholic offense. Matthew Tipton picked up the win, scattering four hits in six innings of work.

Sikeston 6   Marion 0
Trey Tigart threw a complete game allowing four hits and fanning four. Gavin O’Brien led the Bulldog offense going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. 

Oakville 3   Marquette 2
Luke Hassler homered for Oakville and Ryan Brady allowed two earned runs in six inning, striking out six to earn the win. 

Clever 11   Marionville 1
Tyler Martin threw a complete game scattering four hits and striking out five batters. Chance Wolfe had a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate and Ranger Curtis drove in three runs 

Festus 7   Ste. Genevieve 3
Jeremy Brown led the Festus offense going 2-for-4 with a double, homerun, and three RBIs. Stephen Moss threw six effective innings allowing two earned runs and giving up six hits.

Markus Rader struck out six and surrendered only three his in six inning of work while Taylor Bay went 3-for-3 with two runs driven in and two runs scored. Randy Brill contributed with one hit and two RBIs. 

Crystal City 10   St. Vincent 1
Troy Shepard led Crystal City on the mound and at the plate, striking out four in six innings and going 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, triple, and four runs scored. Peyton Pollack went 3-for-4 with three runs driven in and two runs scored. 

Farmington 3   Potosi 2
Farmington won a close one with Connor Forsyth going 2-3 and Rider Garrett allowing one hit in two inning of relief work to pick up the win. 

Kennett 14   New Madrid County Central 3
Kennett erupted for 10 runs in the fifth inning to put the game away. Tyson Campbell and Kevonte Mitchell combined for four hits and five runs driven in, while Dusty Hamlett had one hit and three RBIs. Payton Raspberry allowed one earned run in fur innings pitched. 

Holcomb 14   Risco 2
Holcomb pounded out 13 hits, five of which were for extra bases in a five inning win over Risco. Matt Glover led the offense going 4-for-4 with a grand slam and three singles. James Vance added a three RBI double and collected another RBI on a bases loaded hit by pitch. Dustin Houart threw five innings of two hit ball while striking out eight
