Daily Roundup: April 22 Games



No. 1 Lake Orion 7 Stoney Creek 1 – Nick Deeg was dominant on the mound throwing a complete game allowing one run on four hits and striking out 12. Ryan Lambrecht was 3-4 with a solo homerun and Deeg was 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Roman Kuster and Josh Bays each drove in a run. 

No. 3 Brother Rice 8 No. 9 U of D Jesuit 5 – Ty Kiafoulis and Freddy Jehle led the offense in matchup of two top ten teams. Kiafoulis was 2-3 with a homerun, three RBI, and a run scored. Jehle was 3-4 with a double and two RBI. Dalton Greyerbiehl threw the final 2.2 innings for Brother Rice allowing two hits and no runs.

No. 11 Mattawan 11 Jackson Lumen Christi 1 – Ben Root got the win throwing four innings allowing one unearned run, one hits, and striking out seven. At the plate he was 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored. Brian Preslye was 3-4 with two RBI and a run and BJ Butler was 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored.. 

No. 11 Mattawan 4 Jackson Lumen Christi 2 – Evan Koning threw four shutout innings to get the win allowing three hits and striking out six. Mitchell Anderson was 1-3 with a homerun, two RBI, and a run scored and Ryan DeMorrow was 1-2 with a RBI and a run scored.

No. 25 North Farmington 4 Groves 1 – Alex Darden threw six innings allowing one run on five hits and striking out seven to get the win. Eric Stanis was 3-4 with a RBI and Bobby Lett drove in two runs. Brooks Reno was 2-3 with a run scored and Kevin Turner was 2-4 with a RBI.

Adams 5 Oxford 1 – CJ Borglin picked up the win throwing six innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out six. Ben Hart and Kyle Lawless each was 2-3 with a RBI, Hart also scored twice. Andrew McBride doubled, drove in a run, and scored once.

Bishop Foley 6 Lutheran North 5 – Chad Gravlin led the offense going 2-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Billy Malak and Chung each had a hit and drove in a run. Austin Lukaschewski got the win throwing 4.2 innings allowing one earned run, three hits, and striking out five.

Bishop Foley 7 Lutheran North 0 – Chad Gravlin threw a complete game shutout allowing two hits, one walk, and striking out eight. Mike Reid drove in two runs,  Brad Baldwin doubled, drove in a run, and scored twice, and Mike Murley was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs.

Comstock Park 7 Allendale 3 – Calvin Wojtaszak went 2-3 with a double, RBI, and three runs scored to lead the offense. Eric Schweitzer doubled and drove in a run and Jake Brown also drove in a run.

Dexter 7 Bedford 6 – Brett Garwood led the offense going 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Collin Hanss drove in two runs, Greg Coffee scored the winning run in the bottom of the fifth, and Derek Seidl was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs scored. Garwood also got the win throwing the final inning, striking out one.

Bedford 5 Dexter 3 
Bedford won a tight one in Game 1 going nine innings.  Dexter's Brennan Maisch threw a gutsy complete for Dexter in the loss. Jackson Lamb struggled and surrendered two runs for Bedford but did sit 89-91mph. Josh Strickland got the win for Bedford.

Huron 9 Lincoln 2 – Domenic DiGiovine threw a complete game allowing two runs on three hits and striking out seven. At the plate he doubled at drove in two runs. Nasheed Bass led the offense going 3-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Demetrius Sims was 2-4 with a double and a run scored and Austin Henry was 1-3 with three runs scored.

Huron 10 Lincoln 4 – Bobby Knutilla led the offense going 2-5 with a triple, two RBI, and two runs scored. Jon Witherspoon was 1-2 with two RBI and a run scored and Demetrius Sims was 1-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored.

L’Anse Creuse North 8 Grosse Pointe South 6 – A five run fourth inning led L’Anse Creuse to a victory. Jordan Frame was 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored and Danny Keer was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored. Mikey Michalski was 2-4 with two doubles and a run scored.

Lakeshore 2 Niles 0 – Josh Foster threw a three hit shutout striking out one to get the win. Johnny Nate was 2-3 with a RBI and Eric Vigansky was 2-3 with a run scored.

Leslie 15 Vandercook Lake 0 – Leslie scored all 15 runs in the second inning on their way to a three inning win. 

Ludington 3 Manistee 0 – Evan Kroeze threw a no hitter allowing three walks and striking out four in the win. Blake Collins led the offense going 2-3 with a RBI and Chard Large was 1-2 with two runs scored.

Manistee 5 Ludington 3 – Tyler Kempf led the offense going 3-4 with two RBI and Kreighton Rahn was 2-3 with a double and two runs scored. Mason Swidorski threw a complete game allowing two earned runs and striking out five.

Niles 8 Lakeshore 2 – Tate Rudlaff had abig game at the plate going 2-4 with a double, triple, three RBI, and two runs scored. Connor Glick was 2-3 with a double and two RBI and Chris Magnus was 2-4 with a RBI and a run scored. Tate Brawley got the win throwing all seven innings allowing one earned run on three hits and striking out 11.

Northville 3 Canton 1 – Jake Hansen threw a complete game scattering eight hits, allowing one run, and striking out six. Taylor Turner had the lone RBI for Northville.

Paw Paw 7 Vicksburg 3 – Kevin Suwarsky picked up the win throwing 6.1 innings allowing two earned runs, five hits, and striking out nine. Cal Beck and Sam Rice each had a hit and drove in a run, Beck also scored once.  Kyle Williams and Justin McCauley each scored twice.

Paw Paw 2 Vicksburg 0 – Justin McCauley threw six shutout innings allowing two hits and striking out five to get the win, he also scored one of the two runs. Jared Yarbrough doubled and scored once.

Shrine Catholic 13 West Bloomfield Jewish Academy 0 – Shrine scored in each inning capped off by a six run fifth inning to get a five inning win. Mark Ruhle was 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored and Stevie Erwin was 2-4 with a RBI and a run. Drake Eckert drove in three runs and Cam Cavozos doubled, drove in a run, and scored three times. Connor Francek and Juian Ernst each had a hit, two RBI, and a run scored. Mike Cobbledick got the win throwing 3.1 innings allowing two hits and striking out four.

Skyline 5 Chelsea 2 – Ben Sadis threw a complete game allowing one earned run on two hits and striking out six to get the win. Joel Frison was 3-4 with a double, RBI, and run scored and Brody Stevens was 2-3 with a RBI and run scored.

Skyline 11 Chelsea 5 – Joel Frison had three more hits in game two going 3-3 with a RBI and three runs scored. Brody Stevens was 1-3 with four RBI and a run scored.  Patrick Lewis was 2-4 with a double and a RBI and Justin Woods scored three times. Jack Clark got the win throwing six innings allowing six hits, no earned runs, and striking out five. 

Romeo 5 Grosse Pointe North 0 – Greg Antoine threw a complete game shutout scattering six hits and striking out three. At the plate he was 1-2 with a RBI. Eric Shanklin was 1-2 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored and Joe Gardner was 1-2 with a RBI and a run scored. 

Utica 10 Port Huron 0 – Taylor Curtis threw all six innings allowing five hits and striking out four. Marion Lombardo was 2-4 with three RBI and Curtis drove in two runs. Will Young was 2-4 with a RBI and two runs scored and Tyler Tilk was 1-1 with two RBI.

Vandercook Lake 12 Leslie 8 – Tyler Mihalatz led the offense going 3-4 with a RBI and two runs scored. Tony Deneka also had a good game going 2-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored. Kyle Meade and Thye Fischman each had a hit, RBI, and scored twice.
