Daily Roundup: April 4 Games

Once again, rain cancelled the majority of games around Kentucky, with teams that have traveled for Spring Break seeing the most action.  Here is a look at scores and highlights from games played yesterday.

#1 Tates Creek 6, Ft. Walton FL 2
Max Sweet tripled and drove in 2 runs, Tanner Hart added a triple and RBI, and Kendrick Cruise doubled in the Tates Creek win.  Hart allowed 6 hits and no earned runs with 6 K’s in 6 innings of work to pick up the win.

#3 Paul Laurence Dunbar 3, Avon IN 1

Bowling Green 4, #3 Paul Laurence Dunbar 3 (11 Innings)
Devin Hayes collected 2 hits, and Bowling Green scored the winning run on a wild pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th for the victory.  Joseph McIntyre, Nacarius Fant, and Luke Thurman combined to allow just 5 PLD hits in the 11-inning game.

#4 St. Xavier 4, Noblesville IN 2
The Tigers knocked off the #11 ranked 4A team in Indiana despite Austin Clemons collecting their only hit of the game.  Miles Lee allowed 1 earned run and struck out 6 in 4 innings of work to pick up the win.

Archbishop Stepinac NY 5, #5 Lexington Catholic 4

#7 West Jessamine 12, Medina OH 1
West Jessamine won its 12th consecutive game to start the season.

#11 Paducah Tilghman 10, Boyd Co 5
Jeremiah White went 4-for-4 with 4 RBI, and Nick Shumaker and Miles Butler each added 2 hits for Tilghman. 

#13 PRP 21, IMG Academy 11
Robbie Dale went 3-for-4 with a double, HR, and 6 RBI, Alex Miller went 3-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI, and Zach Dillander went 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI as PRP erased an 11-3 defecit by scoring 18 runs over the final 2 innings.  John Oyler also homered in the PRP victory.  Jeremy Bickett worked 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.

#15 Eastern 8, Tippecanoe 2
Eastern won its 11th consecutive game.

#17 McCracken Co 3, #9 Lafayette 2
Ian Walters doubled and drove in 2 runs, and Keegan Breese allowed just 4 hits and 1 earned run in his 7 innings of work for McCracken County. 

Goodpasture Christian TN 7, #19 Trinity 2

#21 Scott Co 6, Russell 5 (10 Innings)
Cam Hill went 3-for-5, and Tanner Blankenship collected 2 hits and drove in 2 runs, including the game-winning base hit in the bottom of the 10th, as Scott County won in walk-off fashion.  Chase Martin allowed 3 earned runs in 8 innings of work, and Josh Stratton picked up the win by striking out 2 in working a scoreless 10th inning.

Calloway Co 3, Anderson Co 2
Caleb Brannon went 2-for-2, and Connor Wagner racked up 13 K’s in the complete game effort for Calloway County.

Calloway Co 8, Indian Creek IN 4
Wade Carter went 2-for-4 with a double, and Austin Anderson added 2 hits as Calloway County won its second game of the day.  Bryce Orr struck out 8 and allowed 1 earned run in 5 innings of work to pick up the win.

Logan Co 6, Avon IN 2
Hunter Britt doubled and drove in 3 runs, and Michael Riley added 2 RBI as Logan County won in the Warren County Invitational Tournament.  Jordan Hendrix allowed 5 hits, 2 earned runs, and struck out 7 in going the distance for the win.

Murray 3, Warren Central 0
Dustin Bevil went 2-for-3 at the plate and fired a complete game, one-hit shutout with 13 K’s to lead Murray to the win in the Warren Central Spring Break Tournament.

North Hardin 2, Murray 1
Graham Matthews doubled and drove in 2 runs, and Sy Ogden picked up the win, allowing 1 hit and striking out 5 in 5 innings of work. 

CAL 5, Greenup Co 4
Paul Haupt drove in 2 runs, and Riley Thompson, Andrew Viola, Charles Batuello, and Brett Cohoon each added 2 hits to lead the CAL offense.  Jacob Walp allowed 1 earned run in 4 innings to pick up the win.

Madison Central 5, Fairdale 3
Ben Morin went 2-for-3, and Isaac Swafford added a RBI double in the Madison Central victory.  Kyle Kelsey allowed 1 earned run in 3.2 innings of work to record the win.
