Daily Roundup: March 13 Games

It was a dry and chilly evening across The Commonwealth last night, but the schedule heated up with several games being played around the state.  Here is a look at scores and highlights from last evening.

#13 Paducah Tilghman 18  Fulton City 0 (5 innings)

#18 Logan County 4  Warren East 0
Caleb Bruner worked 6 hitless innings with 11 K’s to pick up the win, and Michael Riley collected 2 hits to lead the Logan County offense.

Garrard County 12  Burgin 0 (5 innings)
Seth Murphy went 3-for-4 with a HR, Matt Wilburn went 2-for-3 with a HR, Evan Smith went 3-for-4 with a double, and JT Lyon and Phillip Pozzuto each collected 2 hits as Garrard County pounded out 15 hits in the rout.  Sammy Galloway fired 4 hitless innings with 10 K’s to pick up the victory.

Fern Creek 7  Oldham County 2
Evan Flener went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI, and Kyle Gabehart collected 2 hits as Fern Creek opened the season with a victory.  Trey Blandford also stroked 2 hits while driving in 2 runs in the win.  Winning pitcher Ryne Underwood scattered 6 hits in going the distance for Fern Creek.

Whitley Co 6  Bell Co 2
Casey Crisologo went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, and Corey Crisolog and Michael Harris each collected a double in the win.  Tyler Downs scattered 6 hits in going the distance for Whitley Co. 

Caldwell Co 12  Lyon Co 2 (6 innings)
Eli Pepper, Josh Young, Elijah Anderson, and Chandler Blackburn each drove in 2 runs apiece in the winning effort.  Levi Estes picked up the win with 5 K’s in 2 2/3 IP.

Henry Co (TN) 9  Murray 2
Dustin Bevil collected the only hit of the game for the Tigers as they dropped their season opener.

Breckinridge Co 8  McLean Co 4
Chris Morgan went 2-for-3 with a RBI, and Trey Woosley drove in 3 runs.  Woosley picked up the win in tossing 5 innings of two-hit baseball with 6 K’s. 

Atherton 5  KY Country Day 1
Michael Vittitoe went 2-for-3 with a HR, and Justin Morris and Brady Schmidt each collected 2 hits in the winning effort.  Zach Davis recorded the win allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run in 6 1/3 innings of work with 5 K’s.

Ballard 9  Southern 0
Jay Poullard went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, and Nick Nonos went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI in the Ballard win.  Jack Dillon pitched 4 scoreless innings to record the win.

Christian Co 8  Kenwood, TN 6
Sam Blane went 2-for-3, and Dixon Craft drove in 2 runs to lead the Christian Co. offense. Chance Carner allowed 2 runs in his 3 innings of relief work to pick up the win.

Collins 9  Gallatin Co 0
The Titans pounded out 12 hits in the win.  Zac Wiley and Paul Miller each went 2-for-2 with a double,  Justin Eden collected 2 hits, and Dre Ferris added a triple in the win.  Chris Crotzer drove in 2 runs for Collins as well.  Zac Wiley picked up the win, allowing 1 hit while striking out 7 in his 4 innings of work.

Franklin-Simpson 10  Macon Co (TN) 0
Timothy Wimpee went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI, and Tyler Knight added 3 hits and 2 RBI in the season opener for Franklin-Simpson.  Jeff England fired a complete game, 3-hit shutout with 12 K’s to pick up the win.

Greenwood 13  Allen Co-Scottsville 4
Noah Edmonson doubled twice and drove in 3 runs, Ben Reeves doubled and drove in 3 runs, and Nick Sanders, Drew Havles, and Al Hardin all collected 2 hits apiece as Greenwood cruised to the victory.  Ben Cole picked up the win tossing 3 innings of relief.

Knox Central 10  Williamsburg 0
Hunter McRight went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, and 4 RBI in leading Knox Central to the victory.  Seth Hill pitched 5 hitless innings while striking out 6 to record the win.

North Oldham 8  DuPont Manual 5
Andrew Pennybaker went 4-for-4 with a double, and Adam Judd added 2 RBI in leading North Oldham to the win.  Evan Cripe worked 4 innings to pick up the win, and Judd struck out 5 in 3 scoreless innings to earn the save.

Union Co 7  Daviess Co 2
Homer Onan went 2-for-3 with a double, and Heath Onan added 3 hits to lead the Union County offense.  Kyle Griffin threw 5 scoreless innings and racked up 8 K’s to record the win.
