End-of-the-Month Roundup: February

By Andy Sroka

Today’s March 1 and there’s already a ton of baseball in the books.

The PBR Illinois team has been busy bouncing around the state hosting showcases – from McHenry to Peoria. Naturally, there’s been plenty to report on in the fallout of these events. We’re also gearing up for the IHSA season to start soon, and first pitch is set for March 11. Across all PBR channels, February marks the start of the road to June’s MLB Draft. We held our 17th annual Super 60 pro showcase at The MAX at the start of last month, which generally marks the start of the new PBR calendar, for all intents and purposes.

Anyway, there’s plenty you may have missed along the way. This post is packed with convenient links and news over the past month. Check out what you may have missed below.

  • Everyone seems to get that, before MLB teams head to Spring Training, before the high school season starts, and before SEC, ACC, and Pac-12 teams get going, JUCO baseball is already in full swing. February’s JUCO Wire is absolutely stacked as a result.

  • Check it out for yourself, but here are some highlights: TX’s Tournament of Champions, Day 1 & Day 2 notes | FL’s Capital City Classic

  • From an Illinois perspective, we previewed Kankakee CC earlier in the month.
