The month of May is always a very exciting time in the baseball world. On one hand, you have the major league season in full swing. On the other hand, the prep and collegiate seasons are winding down and beginning postseason play. On top of that, anticipation for the annual MLB Draft begins to amp up throughout the month.

The PBR Illinois team was on top of it all, traveling across the state to cover the high-level talent on display during the IHSA postseason. On a national level, the PBR team provided in-depth analysis for the upcoming draft, including mock drafts and previews for some of the drafts top players.

  • The updated PBR 2022 Overall Rankings were released on May 30. SS Logan Wagner (NA; Louisville) ranked in at No. 99, making him the highest representative for the state of Illinois. Following closely behind him were RHP Gavin Woodland (Sesser-Valier; uncommitted), C Zander Buchan (Maine South; South Carolina), C Nate Voss (Marist; uncommitted), and RHP Alex Stanwich (Lincoln-Way East; uncommitted) to round out the Illinois talent.
