Several new players showed up Saturday at Northwest MS CC in Senatobia for our Fall Uncommitted Only (North) Showcase and did not disappoint. Many of these young men are headed towards a commitment table soon! Here's a look at a few (but not all) standouts from the event...

 

Gabe Wright, a 2022 RHP out of DeSoto Central turned some heads with a fastball that reached 86 mph and great feel for a breaking ball with some very tight 11/5 spin.

Darren Johnson, a 2021 infielder, moved to the outfield also and looked polished with some very consistent throws. The Southaven product looked solid at the plate showing lots of controlled aggression and a line drive approach.

Taylor Ballard (2022) is a lefty to keep a close eye on. The Tupelo junior was up to 81 mph and showed good feel for 3 pitches while also showing some ability at the plate spraying line drives all over the field.

Hudson Mattox (2023) was arguably the top prospect at the event. The Kirk Academy sophomore looked great on the mound with a very mature slider with lots of bite and a fastball that sat 83-84 mph. Mattox also showed plenty of pop at the plate sending a few balls over the wall with an event best 92 exit velocity.
