Day Three and Four Scout Blog

Brennan Baker OF / RHP / Mandarin, FL / 2021

Athletic, toned frame with quick twitch ability present throughout. Above average runner with Long legs and smooth, effortless strides in the OF. At the plate he has active, loose hands and leg kick with the ability to attain optimal separation and get on time, even with loud movement in the body. Above average hand speed and extends the arms consistently at contact. Gets the body behind the barrel well and lets the lower arms do the work through the swing.

Cristian Bolt OF / OF / Strawberry Crest , FL / 2021

The athletic outfielder stood out all weekend. Had a hit in all four garnes and is your prototypical leadoff guy. Has some upside offensively as the frame is wiry. Would go 6-11 for the tournament and only strikeout once all weekend.

AJ Ciscar RHP / N/A, FL / 2024

Ciscar impressed on the mound during the 14U championship. Balanced repeatable delivery working 78-80 with the fastball. Tall, lanky frame. Long to short arm action coming from a high 3/4 slot. Advanced breaking ball looks to be a swing and miss pitch. Ciscar battled and helped X Team win the 14U championship.

Eric Fernandez SS / RHP / Riviera Prep, FL / 2023

Miami commit. 6-foot-2 thin, high waisted, athletic frame. Mature barrel actions, hands staying inside baseball, short compact swing making hard contact out front driving a 2B to opposite field gap.

Tristan Gasset RHP / 2B / Wellington, FL / 2021

Gasset stays in rhythm on the bump, reaching an athletic balance point working in line to the plate with a high 3/4 arm slot. FB: 87-89 arm side sink. Will gain velo with continued physical development. Has good feel for off speed pitches mixing CB & SL effectively. Was perfect thru 3.2 with 6 K’s before giving up base hit. Threw a complete game with 12 K’s.

Ethan Hummel LHP / Orangewood Christian, FL / 2023

Lean, athletic frame. High waisted with strength in the lower half. Upside in the arm with loose, quick action and displays a methodical, rhythmic delivery that gets the weight on the backside and explodes the energy through the plate. Advanced pitchability for his age with feel for the breaking ball that registered in the upper 60s and should add some bite as he gets comfortable throwing it. The fastball was sharp with ride at the plate and some arm side run at 80-82 mph.

Hunter Miller 3B / C / Fort Pierce Central, FL / 2022

Miller put together many quality at bats over the weekend. He came through when it mattered most with the go-ahead 2B in extras in the Championship game. Really like how the swing works and shows an ability to turn the barrel. Fairly simple with rhythm and adjustability as well.

Zach Mizrahi LHP / 1B / Mandarin, FL / 2021

Mizrahi looked good today throwing 5 efficient innings recording 8 K’s, only allowing 2 hits. FB 81-84 with slight arm side run. CB 66-71 backed up on him a couple of times but feel for pitch is present.

Pavlos Piperakis OF / LHP / St. Thomas Aquinas, FL / 2023

Was impressive all day, despite getting the loss.  Arm works clean. Simple delivery. Attacked with the fastball and curveball. Fastball worked 76-82. Really showed a feel to spin the curveball at 64-67 mph. Like the upside and ability to compete.

Marc Quarrie OF / Riviera Prep, FL / 2023

Quarrie showed some power potential this week. Multiple extra base hits on the weekend. Simple swing, showed a gap-to-gap approach. Ball jumps off the bat.

Jensen Seculer 3B / St. Thomas Aquinas, FL / 2023

6-foot-3 210 lb. Large, athletic frame. Big, physical 3B shown above average bat speed this weekend, staying inside of baseball using long limbs to get extension through swing. 2 doubles this weekend to the fence.

Zane Starling SS / RHP / Columbia, FL / 2023

Starling impressed with the bat as he showed quick hands at the plate and power potential to the pull side. Starling consistently found the barrel. Starling showed promise on the mound as with the fastball up to 80 mph.

Conley Strayer OF / Plant, FL / 2022

Strayer did nothing but barrel baseballs this weekend. Athletic frame with a simple line drive swing. Strayer has shown a gap-to-gap approach and an ability to spray the ball all over the field.

Andrew Vaughan RHP / 3B / River Bluff , SC / 2023

Was impressive in his start. Not overpowering stuff, but located and changed speeds well. Went 6.1 ip allowing only 3 hits and 8 Ks against a talented Scorps team.

Cooper Whited LHP / 1B / Sandalwood, FL / 2023

Long, athletic frame with quick twitch ability at the plate. Wiry arms and legs that he uses for leverage to get the barrel to the ball efficiently. Wide base and keeps the head still, seeing the ball a long way and keeps the hands inside the baseball consistently. Mature approach in the box, comfortable going to all fields and has some juice to the pull side. On the mound, the big bodied left-hander didn't feature overpowering stuff, but competed in the zone and changed speeds. He would earn the win going 4 innings with 1 earned run and striking out seven.

Ethan Wilford OF / RHP / Baker County, FL / 2022

Long, lean frame with athletic ability and an advanced frame. Potential for some growth and should continue to add strength to the body as he matures. Utilizes the core and lower half well in his swing and stays connected through the turn with tight hands. Advanced feel for the barrel as the adjustability stood out and kept a strong, balanced base. Has a quick trigger and throws the back hip through contact creating tension and allowing the barrel to whip through the baseball. Barreled multiple pitches and hit to all fields with authority.

Nick Wimberly RHP / N/A, FL / 2024

Wimberly looks to be an exciting young arm. Tall, high waisted frame. Deceptive ¾ arm slot. Fastball sitting 78-80 T82 with armside run. Advanced breaking ball at 65-68. Will be a 2024 to follow.

Dane Wohlabaugh 1B / 3B / Winter Springs, FL / 2023

6-foot-1 195 lb. strong, athletic frame. Short, compact swing getting extension through contact hitting a hard line drive to LF. Bat speed is present, power will come with continued physical development.

Landon Wooten RHP / Oakleaf, FL / 2022

6-foot-5 220 lb frame. Wooten is a big strike throwing RHP. Heavy low 80’s FB, and solid off speed stuff keeping hitters off balance all weekend. Weekend ERA: 0.90 10 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 10 K’s.
