BASE CAMP

Currently ranked 90th in the PBR Pennsylvania Class of 2021 and 5th positionally, Gregos displayed a physical 6-foot-0 208-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, square stance and utilizes a heel raise stride to initiate his swing. Showcased balance throughout with above average strength in his lower half, consistently driving baseballs to the pull side with backspin. Potential middle of the order, run producing bat at the next level. Registered a bat exit velocity of 91 mph and ran a 7.31 60-yard dash. Showed active feet and solid lateral range defensively with improved 84 mph arm strength across the diamond.

The Ascent 

We saw Gregos in early January 2019 where he stood out with a notable batting practice round and 90 mph bat-exit velocity, however it was evident he needed to continue becoming more athletic while increasing his arm-strength across the infield. 9 months later at the Elite Prospect Showcase, Gregos demonstrated his improvements across the board as he registered an 84 mph arm-strength across the diamond (10 mph increase) as well as trimming his 60-yard dash from 7.47-7.31. A middle of the order guy at the next level, Gregos locked in his ability to not only be a force offensively but a guy who can contribute on both sides of the ball. Improved range and ability to throw from different arm angles were evident, and showed his urgency to master a part of his game that needed some work. 

REACHING THE SUMMIT

“In order for Gregos to continue taking the jump from a run-producing middle of the order guy to an all-around toolsy player, he needs to continue working on mobility and quickness in his game. An advanced lower half generates notable power to the pull-side gap, but staying on the baseball better to the deep right centerfield would open up a ton of hits for him in the future. Continuing to stay fluid defensively and being quick with the first step will lead to even more improvement on already solid range to both sides. Continuing to refine his approach in order to let his 91 mph bat-exit velocity play consistently in-game will leave no doubt in recruiters minds that he will be an RBI machine at the next level. With his recent performance and noticeable improvements in areas that needed work, Gregos put himself on the map as a real deal player at his position.”
