Henderson State inks four in early signing period. The Reddies committed two outfielders, an infielder and a right-handed pitcher. See our report on each of them below.

Eric Groom, OF, Arkadelphia HS
Groom is 5-foot-11 155-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and build. Groom is a 6.67 runner in the 60. Defensively he plays through the baseball with a fluid footwork, he uses a normal exchange and an accurate arm. Offensivley he starts from an athletic stance, he uses a slight load and stride. He loads his hands back with a slight arm bar. He uses a line drive swing plane, and maintains balance through extension. Overall an advanced athlete with above average defensive abilities.

Bryson Haskins, OF/INF, Ashdown HS
Haskins is a 6-foot 170-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and physical build. He is a premium athlete that runs a 6.57 in the 60. Defensively he shows solid instincts playing through the baseball with fluid footwork. He uses a normal exchange with stiff arm action from a ¾ arm slot. Offensively he attacks the baseball with a line drive swing with rotation. He fines barrel on a consistent basis. Overall Haskins is an advanced athlete with raw bat speed.

Andrew Swaim, RHP, Ouachita HS
Swaim is a 6-foot-3 185-pound right-hander with an athletic frame and build. His fastball works 82-84 mph up to 85 mph. He compliments his fastball with a curveball thrown 71-73 mph with early break and 11/5 shape. He does a sound job commanding his changeup thrown with near fastball arm speed. Mechanically he repeats his simple delivery with a consistent rhythm. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with a quick arm. Overall Swaim is a large athlete with a feel to pitch, which projects to throw harder as he adds strength.

Nick Whitley, MIF, Sheridan HS
Whitley is a 5-foot-10 180-pound middle infielder, with an athletic frame and a physical build. He plays through the baseball with fluid foot work, he uses a quick exchange and an accurate arm. Offensively he uses a compact swing and a feel for the barrel to produce line drives on a consistent basis. Overall Whitley is a sound defender with a feel to hit.
