By: Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

The 2016 Top Prospects Games are June 7th and 8th at beautiful Arvest Ballpark in Springdale Arkansas. Before we move on to the 2016 Games, let’s take a look back at some of the highlights and players from the inaugural game.

Top Pitching Performance:

2016 LHP Collin Cahill struck out 9 hitters in three innings commanding his fastball and curveball for strikes. He commanded the game completely while on the mound. This event was one of the bright spots for his summer campaign before committing to Arkansas State in the fall.

Top Hitters Performance:

2016 OF/RHP Garry Hill showed out barreling balls on a consistent basis to rack up 4 hits during his three games played. As well as showing off some lock down defensive skills in the outfield. Hill committed to Arkansas State a few weeks after the event.

Top Pro Style Performance:

2017 OF Evan Hooper: Hooper ran a blistering 6.34 in the 60, he threw 85 mph from the outfield and recorded exit velocities up to 95 mph. He did a great job displaying his bevy of tools. He committed to Arkansas two weeks after Top Prospects Games.

Under the Radar Winner:

2018 RHP Connor McCullough displayed big time tools for a young player flashing a fastball that worked 84-87 mph and touched 88 three times in 2 innings of work. His breaking ball showed solid depth. Shortly after the Top Prospects Games McCullough was offered and committed to Oklahoma.
