RISERS

Jayson Jones 3B / SS / Braswell , TX / 2022

Jumping 13 spots into the Top 10 is Arkansas recruit Jayson Jones. The ball comes off Jones’ bat differently as the barrel stays in the zone forever on a flat path. His 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame already showcases some physicality although it will likely add even more strength in coming years which will only aid the already impressive power that he has. Jones’ quick hands whip the heavy barrel through the zone, and he is a persistent threat in each at-bat and any count. An athletic defender at third base, he has a chance to stick there long-term although the bat alone will allow him to shift to a corner outfield spot if necessary. An immediate impact player, and might ultimately be the best hitter in the class.

Conner Weigman SS / OF / Bridgeland, TX / 2022

Coming in at No. 35 climbing 12 spots is QB1/SS Conner Weigman. With the chance to play both at the next level given his ability to swing the bat. The stoic 6-foot-2, 205-pounds, the uncommitted infielder looked the part through the entire summer, and his right-handed stroke was aided with a boost of power.

Jace LaViolette OF / 1B / Tompkins, TX / 2022

LaViolette makes a significant jump in the Overall Rankings climbing 32 spots to No. 44 .The LSU recruit, shined against some of the top arms in the country at the Area Code Underclass event. The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder is plenty imposing, physically, but it was his hit-tool that has taken him to the next level as a prospect. Balanced and compact throughout the approach from the left side, LaViolette is relaxed with an ability to slow the game down while still producing impressive exit velocities to all fields, and still showcasing big power potential. His frame is well-built with defined muscle throughout, and he has the athleticism to stick at a corner outfield spot, especially given his soft, confident hands.

Max Belyeu OF / RHP / Aledo, TX / 2022

Belyu makes the biggest jump within the Top 100 rising 32 spots to No. 49. The Alabama recruit really showed to have made great strides in his game this summer and has quickly established himself as one of the top hitters in the class. Belyeu stands out physically in the box. If the bat to ball improves, Belyeu could pose as a serious power threat in the middle of the order.

Xavier Perez RHP / Veterans Memorial, TX / 2022

The Flordia commit makes a slight rise climbing 8 spots to No. 70. A quick South Texas arm, that has been up to 91 this summer. Competitive bulldog on the mound. Makes the big pitch when he needs it. Really shows the ability to spin the breaking ball for strikes and a swing and miss out pitch. Will only continue to develop down in Corpus and has a bright future ahead of him.

Wyatt Wiatrek RHP / Sinton, TX / 2022

Your prototypical wide back, strong frame starting pitcher build continues to develop as a pitcher up to 90 late in the summer with a swing and miss slider to go with it. Wiatrek also has shown the feel and ability to throw a CH to both right and left handed hitters. The CB finishes out his arsenal and will flash a quality pitch but lacks consistency with it at times.

Cade McGarrh SS / RHP / Frisco Liberty, TX / 2022

McGarrh another player making his way into the Top 100 coming in at No. 85. The Texas Tech recruit with lots of room to put on strength as he matures. Natural instincts in the field with hands and feet that work in the field. The swing works and plays and will also only get better with added strength.

Travis Sanders SS / 2B / Copperas Cove, TX / 2022

Sanders showed well this summer, resulting in rise in the rankings to No. 88. The Texas Tech recruit is a fluid athlete in the field with the ability to stay the shortstop position. Offensively, the athleticism really stood out in the box and has the ability to put together some loud quality at-bats.

Lucas Davenport RHP / Prosper, TX / 2022

The Texas A&M commits rise in the rankings comes are after impressive showing at this year’s Area Code Games. Working exclusively out of the stretch, the long and lean, 6-foot-5, 195-pound right-hander pounded the zone at 88-91 with some length in the back of the arm stroke before exhibiting quickness out front. The breaking ball was thrown for strikes at 77-78 and was more of an average pitch that played up against the firm fastball, but a shift to a slider is possible in the future. Davenport pitched “bored”, and had no issue taming the lineup he was going up against. Another long frame that is likely to acquire much more strength in coming years, and also to see a velocity uptick very soon.

Justin Lamkin LHP / OF / Calallen, TX / 2022

Expect to see the Texas A&M to continue to rise in the Rankings. Makes another jump in the latest installment, checking in at No. 105. His 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame has some durable strength present, but looks like it will add substantial strength down the line. Working effortlessly up to 88 mph this summer, the left-hander has a shorter arm stroke and a quick arm, and finds his high ¾ slot consistently. There is depth to a multi-tier, low-70s breaking ball that exhibits proper spin for strikes. The three-pitch mix allows him to profile as a starter at the next level, and given the ease of the delivery and freeness of the arm.

Jordan Medellin SS / RHP / Bay Area Christian, TX / 2022

Another Texas player making a rise on the National stage after a strong summer circuit. The Baylor recruit makes one of the largest jumps in the class climbing 183 spots to No. 124. Having maybe one of the most impressive offensive performances at the Area Code Games the wiry 6-foot-1, 155-pound switch-hitter has balanced in his approach from both sides, he exhibits an ability to slow the game down while finding consistent barrels throughout. The frame is still adding strength, and as it does, he should continue to see an uptick in power production from his present spray line drive ability.

Wilburn Furniss 1B / Nacogdoches, TX / 2022

The Ole Miss recruit was a continuous standout this summer and finds himself climbing 87 spots to No. 131. Furniss easily stands out on the diamond with his 6’3” 175 pound frame. Furniss has always shown the ability to put the bat on the ball, but with his added strength, the power potential may start to show up which will be exciting to watch. Furniss shows an advanced approach at the plate. The LHH has good plate discipline and pitch recognition, which allows him to hit to all fields, and he does a good job adjusting with two strikes. Defensively, the actions are solid at both first and third base. What he may lack in footspeed defensively, he makes up for with instincts, and there’s plenty of arm strength to stay at 3B at the next level.

Cole Phillips OF / RHP / Boerne , TX / 2022

Baylor recruit, long loose athletic 6-foot-3 frame. Up to 90 on the mound and still has a frame that projects more velocity to come. He also doubles an OF that can cover both gaps in CF and shows a simple repeatable stroke at the dish, but the mound may be his calling card down the road.

Kasen Wells OF / SS / Smithson Valley, TX / 2022

Wells checks in at No. 274 jumping 38 spots in the 2022 Overall Rankings. The Texas A&M recruit is an extremely athletic outfielder, with a lot of strength in his frame, along with speed and power. A player that could continue to rise as one of the top outfielders in the class.

Chase Shores RHP / 1B / Midland Lee, TX / 2022

The Oklahoma State recruit jumps eight spots to No. 276. The jump comes after really impressive summers and spring campaigns. A player with a lot of physical projection in his 6-foot-7 frame. Loose whippy arm, short arm path for frame. Works from a low ¾ arm slot that can very at times with pitch selection. Extremely high ceiling on the mound.

Ryan Williams C / 3B / Bridgeland, TX / 2022

Williams arguably one of the top uncommitted backstops in this class makes a slight jump to No. 288. The defense behind the dish is plus. Really showed well all around on the day from a receiving, blocking, moving, throwing standpoint. Shows the ability to work under the ball with a quiet body and receives with ease. Also showed the ability to keep a couple tough blocks close to him and bounced up and got to the ball quickly. From a throwing standpoint, had him between a 1.94 and 2.00 on the bag in between innings and in game. Williams is a no doubt backstop at the next level, the offense will continue to come along with added strength.

Carson Queck OF / RHP / The Woodlands Christian, TX / 2022

Queck makes the largest jump in this Texas 2022 class after his showing at the PBR Future Games. The recent Kansas State Commit, is a prototypical corner outfielder with middle of the order potential with the bat the moment he steps on campus. Queck also moves well with a 6.9-60 as well as shows off a big arm from the OF at 92 mph.

Chase Mora SS / RHP / Tomball, TX / 2022

The Texas State recruit was one our favorite players to watch this summer and proven to be a top two-way player from this Texas class. Checking in at No. 369, Mora is a legit two-way player with lean-twitchy athleticism. On the mound, has a repeatable delivery with some effort. Three-pitch mix. Was up to 90 mph this summer. Breaking ball works in the mid-to-high 70s with sharp late action. Changeup at 79 mph that he will throw to both RHH & LHH hitters. An absolute gamer
