Salvatore Gozzo, SS/RHP, SHEEHAN HS (CT), 2016

PBR: How does it feel to have your college commitment out of the way?

Gozzo: It is definitely a relief to have it out of the way. Some of the weight has been lifted off of my shoulders however this is not the end it's only the beginning. I have to work even harder now and can't let up at all.

PBR: Who influenced you the most in your college decision?

Gozzo: My brother was pro Tulane every step of the way and I was stuck between Tulane and Maryland. Once he made his decision to Tulane that made me lean a little more towards Tulane.

PBR: What was the determining factor in your final decision?

Gozzo: The determining factor was the academics that Tulane offers. So not only are you playing baseball at a high level you're also getting a top of the line education as well.

PBR: What are your personal and team goals for the spring?

Gozzo: My goals for this spring is to improve in all the aspects of my game whether its offensively or defensively. The team goal is to win a state championship and represent our school with class.

PBR:  How do you plan to improve your game as you head into college baseball?

Gozzo: Working hard each and every day at practices/games. Workout as much as possible both in the weight room and on the field. Also improve mentally.

PBR: Who do you look to for guidance on and off the field, who has been instrumental in your life?

Gozzo: My parents are the ones who I look to for guidance. My dad is the one who got me into baseball when I was three and I loved it ever since. I would give him all the credit for my accomplishments. He has taught me everything I know and has made me the baseball player I am today. My mom pushed me academically and is  a huge reason I'm able to go to Tulane with their vigorous academics.
