PBR: Why did you choose Xavier?

Miller: I chose Xavier because I believe the coaching staff can really develop me as a ball player as a person, the campus felt like home, and Xavier has a good program. 

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Miller: Ohio State, Ball State, NKU, UNC Charlotte, Bowling Green, Columbia

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?  How did your relationship develop with them?

Miller: Xavier first saw me in the spring high school season and our relationship started after that and became intense after the Top Prospect Games. 

PBR: Xavier is very close to home.   How much of a role did distance play in your decision?

Miller: Distance was a very big factor in my decision. I wanted to stay closer to home so that my family could come watch me play. 

PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 program?

Miller: It's truly a dream come true. Division 1 baseball was always a goal of mine and it's incredible to say that I have achieved that goal.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable experience?

Miller: I play for Cincinnati Baseball Club. My most memorable experience was striking out 13 batters in 6 innings against Midland. 

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Miller: I am a young 2017. Also, I developed late for my class and therefore didn't have any schools contacting me early at all. Because of that I wasn't expecting a whole lot. After my performance at the Top Prospect Games I had 5 calls from college coaches before I even reached my car and I had many more over the weeks following the event, and that's when I expected to get more busy with the recruiting process. 

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Miller: My summer coach, Kirk Beermann, has had the biggest impact on me as a ballplayer. He helped me tremendously in developing the mental aspect of my game. 

PBR: What were your stats this spring season?

Miller: I was 9-0 w/ 2 SHO and 1SV. I had 63 K's in 58IP. Also a 0.84 ERA and 0.76 WHIP 

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Miller: Nick Northcutt, he's a great guy and great competitor.
