The Kansas high school baseball season has kicked off. Over the next several weeks,  we’ll be publishing our team spotlights during the 2021 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications. Perennially, we’ve submitted a Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team analysis.

If you would like your team covered, please have your head coach email us at [email protected]

TOP PLAYERS

DYLAN RINKER

P / 1B / MCPHERSON, KS / 2021

The Senior led the Bullpups in innings pitched in 2019 and will be tasked for logging important innings on the mound again in 2021.  He will also man 1B and is showing some potential pop with the bat.

TYTIN GOEBEL

P / OF / MCPHERSON, KS / 2022

The Junior will look to build on his previous success at the Varsity level that he had as a Freshman in 2019.  He hit .419 and is showing some good upside.

AIDEN HOOVER

P / 3B / SS / MCPHERSON, KS / 2022

The Junior started every game as a Freshman in 2019 and will be tasked with providing good defense on the left side of the infield.  He will also be looking to pick up some innings out of the bull pen as well.

OUTLOOK

The Bullpups will be as athletic & energized as they have been in a few years.  Multiple sophomores will see varsity time.  They will have great overall team speed and should be able to play a little small ball from time to time if needed.  The focus will be on pitching & defense and let the bats come along throughout the season.

The Bullpups will only have 1 senior in 2021 season and losing the 2020 season was tough as the Bullups were so young and needed the season to practice & develop some nice younger groups.  Getting these guys up to speed quickly at the Varsity level will be crucial especially early on in the season.
