The Ballard Bruins returned from an early season trip to Georgia that saw them knock off Parkview HS (GA), a team that was ranked as high as No. 2 in a few national polls. That win propelled them to an impressive 3-0 week last week that included two wins over preseason Power 25 teams.

On Tuesday, Ballard got things going in a 17-1, five-inning rout of Southern. They followed that up with a trip to Lexington in a much anticipated early season matchup of the No. 1 and 2 ranked teams in our Power 25. The Bruins got a complete game effort from Tyler Horsley and a two-run bomb from Jordon Adell to pull out a 5-3 win.

Ballard’s final win of the week came against No. 13 Elizabethtown on Saturday as  Blake Frost’s RBI single in the sixth inning pushed across the winning run in a 2-1 victory. For the second time this season, Andrew Moloney shut down opposing hitters in the complete game victory.

For their outstanding efforts on the field, the Ballard Bruins have been selected as this week’s PBR Kentucky Team of the Week for March 14-19.
