LA Top 10 Viewed Profiles: February 2022

#1 Ethan Frey C / 1B / Rosepine, LA / 2022

The LSU signee was the lone Super 60 attendee from Louisiana this year and had a great showing.  Recorded an event best 85 mph positional velocity and a 102 mph exit velocity.

#2 William Schmidt RHP / Catholic , LA / 2024

Relatively unknown prior to his first PBR event in June of last year; Schmidt made a big velocity jump at our 2021 All-State Games.  He went from 81-84 mph to 86-88 mph.  His best pitch, however, is his 74-75 mph breaking ball that reaches 3000 RPM’s.

#3 Kade Anderson LHP / OF / St. Paul's, LA / 2023

Anderson has been the top ranked player in the state since entering high schol as a freshman and impressed in his first start of 2022.  The 6’3” southpaw ran his fastball up to a personal best 93 mph and sat 88-92 mph, while mixing in a big “12-6” breaking ball, and a change up to RHH.  If Anderson continues to make strides, he may be a guy that gains helium heading into his draft year in 2023.

#4 Gavin Guidry SS / RHP / Barbe, LA / 2022

Guidry, a LSU Commit, has been the state’s top ranked player since he stepped foot onto Barbe’s campus.  His senior campaign has gotten off to the start he’s wanted, as he collected 8 hits in the Bucs first 5 games and also picked up his first win on the mound by going 5 innings against St. Louis, while striking out 10.

#5 Reece Roussel 2B / OF / Brother Martin, LA / 2025

Roussel’s name is probably familiar to Louisiana baseball fans, as he was a big part of Eastbak Little League’s run to win the 2019 Little League World Series.  Now, a freshman at Brother Martin, Roussel looks to make his mark for the Crusaders this spring.

#6 Shelby Anders SS / 2B / St. Michael the Archangel, LA / 2023

Stocky 5’8” 165 lbs. frame with present lower half strength; Anders attended our Southeast Louisiana Preseason ID and had a nice showing.  Recorded a max exit velocity of 93 mph with a simple RHH swing and a gap to gap approach.  Quality infielder with athletic actions and footwork on the infield as well.

#7 Tre Morgan 1B / OF / Brother Martin , LA / 2020

The former Brother Martin HS standout was a Future Gamer and Super 60 attendee. Morgan, now LSU’s leadoff hitter as a sophomore, had a stellar freshman campaign that earned him All-American honors.  His hitting hasn’t stopped this year, as Morgan is hitting .400 through the Tigers first 8 games.

#8 Zeph Arnold RHP / Sacred Heart Ville Platte , LA / 2022

Arnold may have the best raw arm talent in the state.  A College of Charleston signee; he runs his fastball into the mid-90’s, while consistently sitting 90-92 mph, with developing secondary offerings.

#9 Andrew Clapinski C / RHP / Catholic (BR), LA / 2025

Another talented prospect out of Catholic BR HS; Clapinski caught our eyes at at our Southeast Louisiana Preseason ID in January.  Solid receiver and blocker behind the dish with a high baseball IQ.  Offensively, is where he really shined, showing a professional approach and gap to gap power.

#10 Grant Breaux RHP / SS / Catholic (BR), LA / 2024

Athletic and lean 6’2” frame with plenty of room to add strength.  The former Junior Future Gamer and Future Gamer ran his fastball up to 88 mph at last summer’s Future Games.  Shortly after, at a LSU camp, Breaux touched 90 mph, and received a scholarship offer from the Tigers and committed as well.
