The La Plata Warriors extended their three game win streak to four with a shutout win over the visiting McDonough Rams. The Warriors were led on the mound by Ryan Calvert and on offense by Chet Bowling who went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI’s. Calvert, Alex Borges and Michael Gill also added two hits of their own in the 9-0 win.

The Warriors started jumped out to an early lead  in the first when Bowling singled up the middle plating Calvert. Rams starting pitcher Austin Simms worked his way out of the first inning jam limiting the damage to just one but he couldn’t do the same in the second as La Plata’s bats caught fire and exploded for six runs.

La Plata had seven hits in the innings including four consecutive doubles. The insurance runs would prove to be more than enough for Calvert on the mound; pitching a complete game two-hitter with ten strikeouts.

What’s Next: La Plata improves to (5-2) on the season and will travel to Lackey for a 4:30 pm game start on Monday while the McDonough Rams pay a visit to North Point Monday afternoon. Game time for that contest is also 4:30 pm.
