Ten days ago Lee-Davis defeated Deep Run in a 1-0 pitcher's duel, that featured six combined hits. This playoff matchup, although the same pitchers were on the mound, would err more on the offensive side.

Both teams would pile up double digit hits and get many runners on base, leaving twenty combined runners on.

The scoring started in the bottom of the first on a Carson Jones single into left that would score Brooks Mazey, who reached via a hard liner up the middle.

It was 1-0 Wildcats in the top of the second when Cole Jenkins hit the first offering from Tyler Bradt over the left field fence tying it up at 1-1. After two singles Lee-Davis right fielder Noah Smith cashed in on a fielder's choice to Mazey that would allow Payne to score from third, making it 2-1 Confederates. In the bottom half of the inning Drew Larsen hit a two out line drive single to center that scored Hayes Fallen tying it up at 2-2.

In the bottom of the third Deep Run would take the lead on a Nick Noonan single to right, once again Mazey would score and make the score 3-2 Wildcats.

The runs would go absent until the top of the seventh when Lee-Davis' Zach Lass hit a one out towering shot over left center tying it up at 3-3 and eventually send us to extra innings.

Both teams would threaten in extra innings, but could not get the winning run across until the ninth. In the bottom half of the ninth Scott Sweeney dumped a single into no man's land in right field to start the rally. Three pitches later Sweeney was standing on third, as he would swipe second and third to get ninety feet away from a walk off. Mazey, the Randolph-Macon commit, would get a ground ball over the pitcher's head to score Sweeney and walk-it off sending Deep Run to the semi's on Tuesday. The Wildcats will face one seed Mills Godwin at 4:30 PM at Mills Godwin High School.

Cole Jenkins had a double and a HR for Lee-Davis and Carter Trice was four-for-five with two doubles.

Scott Sweeney scored the winning run while going three-for-five.

Brooks Mazey also had a three hit night and scored two runs for the Wildcats.
