Evan Lewis threw a complete game two-hitter Saturday in his first outing of the season for No. 15 Severna Park. The uncommitted 2020 RHP only needed 71 pitches to navigate through the St. Mary's offense on a brisk and very windy morning. Lewis worked ahead on batters all day throwing 75% of his pitches for strikes and showing excellent command of his fastball and off-speed pitches. St. Mary's drew two walks and scattered two hits in the ballgame, striking out five times.

Severna Park threatened in the top of the first loading the bases but failed to cash in as Andy Hood (Salisbury) worked out of the jam getting a big strikeout to end the inning. St. Mary's would also see one of their best scoring chances of the day falter in the bottom half where they stranded a runner at third base.

A walk and a Saints error in the top of the second set the scene for leadoff hitter and uncommitted 2021 SS Jackson Merrill. Merrill continued his hot start to the season at the plate with an opposite field drive over the left fielders head for a double, plating the Falcons first run of the morning. A dropped third strike that trickled away from the catcher later in the inning proved to be the final run either team would get in the game as Severna Park improved to (2-0) on the young season with the 2-0 victory.

Hood went four innings for the Saints scattering four hits and four walks while striking out six Falcons hitters. Uncommitted 2021 RHP Luke Bessette, uncommitted 2020 LHP McCormick Buchner, and 2019 LHP Brock Goodwin (Monmouth) each pitched one clean inning in relief for St. Mary's. Severna Park's Merrill led all hitters on the day going 3-for-4 with the one RBI.
