Little Shines as Hickory Grove Rushes Past Covenant Day

Brandon Hall
Mid-Atlantic Executive Director

On Thursday, PBR was at Covenant Day School in Matthews, NC to take in a game with the host Lions taking on Hickory Grove Christian.  Hickory Grove sent 2021 East Carolina commit, Jordan Little to the bump for his first outing of the year.

As can happen with early season games, mistakes in the field, paired with some control issues, and an opportunistic lineup, put this game away early.  Hickory Grove staked Little to a 5 run lead before he took the mound and after two innings Hickory Grove led 13-0.

Hickory Grove used 9 hits and took advantage of 6 errors and 12 walks to score 22 runs over the 5 innings.  Covenant Day did push across 4 runs when they got into the Hickory Grove bullpen.  The final score was 22-4 in five innings.
