Louisiana Senior Games: Infielder Reports

Eunice, LA - The PBR Louisiana Senior Games were held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at LSU-Eunice, home of the 7-Time NJCAA DII National Champions. The event consisted of uncommitted prospects from Louisiana's 2024 class. All players in attendance went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast, the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw live against hitters and were able to receive their numbers and metrics off of Trackman, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were several college recruiters on hand for the event and there have already been several prospects who've received offers since Saturday.

Chase Kelley, St Amant (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: 2B/RHP
Body: 5-7, 160-pounds. Athletic
Hit: RHH. Tall and narrow stance, glides out with front foot during a simple load and stride. Short and inside path to contact with level extension and a two-handed finish, back hip works in a linear direction, which helps him stay on the ball up the middle and the other way on a line. 58.9 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 81.5 mph. 318' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-85 mph. Compact arm stroke, 3/4 release.
Defense: Played with one hand off the left side of his body on balls out front, cut the angle on back hand well and on the forehand play, looked most comfortable playing with one hand, accurate arm across diamond.
Kole Hebert, Breaux Bridge (LA), 2024 LSU-Eunice
Positional Profile: LHP/1B One of the state's top uncommitted two-way prospects.
Body: 6-0, 200-pounds. Physical with a durable lower-half.
Hit: LHH. Balanced and squared off stance, uses a simple load and stride. Aggressively turns lower-half, gets on-plane early and works slightly uphill through extension. Showed power to the pull-side during BP. 63.2 mph bat speed with 5 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 87.3 mph. 351' max distance.
Arm: LH. INF-83 mph. Average arm circle, 3/4 release.
Defense: Receives the ball clean and out front with two hands into a funnel, athletic footwork, accurate arm.
Logan Lomonaco, Lakeshore (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-11, 165-pounds. Athletic with broad shoulders
Hit: RHH. Slightly wider and balanced stance, hands at shoulder height, uses a toe-tap load and stride. Drives his back knee through the ground and delivers a direct path to contact with level extension and a two-handed finish, stays on the ball well up the middle and to the pull-side. 60.8 mph bat speed with 5 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 80.7 mph. 307' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-83 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 release.
Defense: Caught the ball clean on balls right at him with average hands and footwork, cut the angle on backhand with one hand, moved well on forehand play.
Anderson Schof, Mandeville (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Athletic
Hit: RHH. Athletic and balanced set-up, uses a knee to knee load and stride. Short and compact to contact with extension through the plane of the pitch, can hit the ball up the middle and to the opposite field gap. 62.7 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 81.5 mph. 327' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-83 mph. Short arm action, 3/4 release.
Defense: Good reads off the bat, works ground up, receives the ball with soft hands into a funnel, moved well laterally and made a really nice play on a fore hander during the workout.
Deekota Johnson, Oakdale (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/OF
Body: 5-8, 141-pounds. Athletic and wiry
Hit: RHH. Tall and open stance with hands held high above back shoulder, uses a leg kick load and stride. Works straight down to contact with his hands and then stays flat through extension, gains some ground forward and hits off front foot, but stays balanced with chest on the ball. Drove a couple of pitches right back up the middle on a line during BP. 55 mph bat speed with 12 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 75.5 mph. 263' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-82 mph. OF-86 mph. OF: Longer arm stroke with an OTT release. INF: Shorter arm stroke, low 3/4 release.
Defense: OF: Athletic actions in the OF, approached the ball under control and low to the ground, received off left foot out front with one-hand. INF: Plays low to the ground, fielded the ball clean and out front, moved well to left and right, and on bounder play
Sawyer Seguin, Zachary (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: 2B/3B
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Athletic
Hit: RHH. Starts in an upright and balanced stance with bat head rested on back shoulder, uses a toe-tap load and stride. Hands work first down to contact then up through extension with a two-handed finish, hit off front foot some at times, chest stays on ball, can hit the ball the other way on a line. 57.9 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 77.6 mph. 280' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-81 mph. Average arm swing, 3/4 release.
Defense: Plays with good rhythm and tempo, soft hands receives the ball out front and clean, moved well to left and right and showed a quick release when he had to.
Roman Albert, Zachary (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/1B
Body: 5-8, 170-pounds. Durable with strong lower-half.
Hit: RHH. Starts in an upright stance, uses a toe-tap load and stride. Coils back hip during toe-tap load under control, stays tight in his turn with an on-plane path to contact and slightly uphill extension with a two-handed finish, gap to gap type hitter with some gap to gap pop. 62.1 mph bat speed with 20 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 86.7 mph. 320' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. Short arm action, 3/4 release.
Defense: Looked comfortable fielding with one hand on his back hand during double plays, athletic footwork moved through the ball after receiving clean and out front.

Body: 5-10, 172-pounds. Athletic.
Hit: RHH. Tall and balanced stance, relaxed hands sit at his back shoulder, uses a modified leg kick. Rhythmic hitter, loose hands and wrists, stays flat to contact with level extension and a two-handed finish, can hit the ball the other way really well. 61.4 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 82.3 mph. 304' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. Short, quick AA, 3/4 release.
Defense: Plays low to the ground, uses short and choppy steps to create momentum to play through the ball, receives out front with a quiet glove and soft hands into a funnel. Moved well on play up the middle.

Thomas Bonaventure, Parkview Baptist (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Durable with sturdy lower-half.
Hit: RHH. Starts upright in a balanced stance, gets front foot down early during a simple load and stride. Hands work first, direct and downhill path to contact, stays flat through extension. Worked mostly up the middle and to the pull-side gap on a line. 58.6 mph bat speed with 12 G's of rotational acceleration.

Body: 5-10, 175-pounds. Athletic.
Hit: RHH. Tall and upright stance, hovers with front foot during load and stride. Works straight to the ball with an inside out path uphill through extension with a one-handed finish, moves back hip in a linear direction, which helps him stay on the ball, can drive the ball up the middle, as evidenced by his triple to CF in gameplay. 62.6 mph bat speed with 6 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 87.4 mph. 305' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. Short and quick arm action, 3/4 release.
Defense: Soft hands out front into a funnel, plays a little higher but with rhythm, cut angle well on back hand, played with one hand on the forehand play.

Body: 5-11, 180-pounds. Athletic wtih strong lower-half.
Hit: RHH. Upright and balanced stance with hands held just above shoulder height, uses a simple load and stride. Takes a direct and slightly steeper path to contact with level extension and a two-handed finish, maintains balance from start to finish, works mostly up the middle on a line. 61.6 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 82.9 mph. 316' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. Longer arm path, high 3/4 release.
Defense: Plays higher and flips glove at times, average hands and actions, did make a nice back hand play during the work with one-hand.

Repeats swing well with a simple and direct path to contact, stays on-plane thorugh extension with a two-handed finish, keeps head and chest on the ball, can drive the ball up the middle and to the opposite field gap. 66.8 mph bat speed with 11 G's of rotational acceleration.

Drives back knee through the ground to create force and finishes balanced, short and compact to contact with uphill extension and a two-handed finish, gets the most out of his frame by rotating lower-half aggressively. 73.1 mph bat speed with 18 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 82.8 mph. 346' max distance.

Defense: Plays really low to the ground from to start to finish, received the ball clean and out front into a funnel, plays with good energy and bounce. Gamer.

Gabe Guidry, Barbe (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: 1B/3B One of the state's top uncommitted 1B.
Body: 6-3, 195-pounds. Physical and athletic.
Hit: RHH. Starts in a slightly open stance with hands held high, gets front foot down early during a simple load and stride. Short and direct path to contact , stays through the plane of the pitch with a two-handed finish, can hit the ball the other way. Collected a two-strike single on a FB up in the zone in game. 62.4 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 77.2 mph. 267' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. Short and quick, 3/4 release.
Defense: Moved really well around the 1B bag with soft hands and athletic actions, moved through his backhand well while throwing across to 3B.

Colt LeJeune, North Vermilion (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-10, 140-pounds. Wiry and athletic
Hit: RHH. Starts in a squared-off, athletic stance with some weight pre-loaded into back hip, hands held high, gets front toe down early before putting heel into the ground to launch. High hands take a steep, downhill path to contact, works uphill through extension with a two-handed finish, works mostly up the middle to the pull-side. 55.2 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.

Hit: LHH. Tall and balanced stance, gets front foot down early during a simple load adn stride. Hands start high and work down and inside the ball to contact, finishes uphill with two hands. Keeps chest and head down on the ball and stays balanced from start to finish. Worked up the middle and to opposite field gap on a line. 62 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.

Flat path to contact with uphill extension and a one-handed finish, sits in back leg and stays there throughout his swing, works mostly up the middle and to the opposite field gap with some loft. 59.5 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration.
