The Prep Baseball Report MN Prospect ID- Minnetonka event took place on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. The event was held at Minnetonka High School in Minnetonka, MN. The event featured prospects from the 2020, 2021 & 2022 grad classes; and included many breakout performances from this year's participants. Players showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and college coaches in attendance. 

There were a number of great individual performances this year at the MN Prospect ID- Minnetonka event.

Nick Allen OF/RHP Edina (MN) 2020
5-foot-8, 145-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.26 runner.  High hands balanced start into a small stride.  Mid/opp approach.  Swing plane is underneath and some inside out producing soft fly ball contact.  Added strength will help grow swing.  81 mph exit velocity.  OF- Average glove with below average footwork.  Throws were elevated with 73 mph arm strength.  On mound- Balance into leg lift with a small turn in.  Good direction down mound.  Fastball is 72-74 mph and straight.  Curveball is early and loose with 12/6 shape at 60-62 mph.  Throws straight flat change-up. 

Thomas Aragon Menzel 1B/LHP Holy Family (MN) 2020
6-foot-1, 150-pound left-handed hitting two-way player.  7.34 runner. Narrow upright stance into a rock back and dive into contact.  Bat path works down to contact and causes hook on the ground and flare the other way.  Swing gets stiff at times.  69 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average hands and feet.  Fields the ball in front and has quick exchange into glove.  Throws from a lower arm slot that causes some tail on the baseball.  70 mph arm strength.  On mound- Starts balanced and into leg lift.  Upper body starts to get over feet when being delivered to plate.  Throws from a low ¾ arm slot.  Varying action on 68-70 fastball.  Curveball has early flat sweeping action with sharper 1/7-2/8 break at 59-60 mph.  Change-up has cut action to it at 58-60 mph.

Maxwell Aug SS/RHP Chatfield (MN) 2021
5-foot-9, 165-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.25 runner.  Upright stance with a rock to load.  Spin hitter and barrel can get long to contact at times.  Gap to gap approach with fly ball contact.  Consistently made solid contact.  84 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average feet and hands.  Hands can get stiff at times with stabbing action.  Throws had good carry and accuracy with 81 mph arm strength.  On mound- Good balance and direction in delivery.  ¾ arm slot with some push arm action.  Running action on fastball at 78-81 mph.  Curveball was 68-70 mph with good depth and tight 11/5 spin.  Change-up is thrown 72-74 mph with arm speed creating solid fade and sink. 

Joe Becker RHP/ 3B New Prague (MN) 2020
5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.32 runner.  Balance set-up with rhythm in swing.  Good athlete.  Line drive pop with flashes of hard contact.  Mid/pull approach and consistently finds barrel.  84 mph exit velocity.  IF- Athletically moves to the ball.  Fields ball out in front in good position.  Average hands. 74 mph arm strength with good accuracy but lacks carry to bag. On mound- Easy delivery with short arm action.  Cutting action on a 73-76 mph fastball.  Curveball is thrown at 63-64 mph with good 12/6 shape.  Cut action on change-up. 

Joe Blink RHP/SS, East Ridge (MN) 2021
5-foot-10, 140-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player.  7.35 runner.  Upright stance and repeatable swing.  Minimal load and direct to contact.  Barrel in solid with a swing plane that produces line drive contact.  Falls over the plate and balance can be off at times.  76 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average feet and can be heavy to the ball.  Glove is stiff and comes out late to field.  Release is long and below average carry. 69 mph arm strength.  On mound- Slightly turned to start.  Good balance to leg lift and falls down mound with not much lower half.  Fastball is 68-70 mph and straight.  Curveball shows small break and shape and is 56-59 mph.  Change-up is slow at 60-62 mph with a stiff wrist when thrown.  Overall raw on the mound. 

Tyler Blue C/OF Montevideo (MN) 2020
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  7.66 runner.  Balanced slightly crouched set-up, into a load back and leg lift.  Strong swing that can get stiff and choppy.  Shows pop in bat with an average barrel.  Gap to gap approach with ground ball to fly ball contact.  78 mph exit velocity.  C- Starts off-balanced. Stiff, with work could smooth things out.  2.25-2.46 pop time.  Long exchange with heavy feet.  66 mph arm strength with ok accuracy and carry. 

Jackson Bode SS/2B, New Ulm (MN) 2020
5-foot-5, 130-pound right-handed swinging middle infielder.  7.26 runner.  Athletic stance with balanced weight to start. Small leg lift with rhythm in the hands to load that transfers weight into swing.  Shows a good bat plane, with line drive contact that uses the whole field.  75 mph exit velocity.  IF- Flashes average hands and feet in the infield.  Glove can get a little stiff at times.  Can take some time to release.  Solid arm with 72 mph arm strength and accuracy across to bag.

Mac Born 3B/1B Chaska (MN) 2020
6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed hitting corner infielder.  6.96 runner.  Good size and frame.  Balanced even set-up.  Stride with minimal hand load.  Strong swing that is short to contact.  Consistent hard contact. Gap to gap approach with raw pop in bat.  87 mph exit velocity.  IF- Sure hands.  Ok feet with a squat to field.  Arm is accurate with carry at 85 mph. 

Noah Borwege LHP Chanhassen (MN) 2020
5-foot-11, 160-pound left-handed throwing pitcher.  Rock to side delivery that throws across body.  Upright release that has slight downhill action.  Fastball is 79-81 mph with some life.  Above average 70-72 mph curveball with tighter spin and 1/7 shape.  Flat action above average change-up with average fade and run.  Change-up is thrown 72-75 mph. 

Jeremy Brown 1B/RHP North St. Paul (MN) 2020
6-foot-3, 205-pound left-handed hitting first baseman.  8.07 runner.  Narrow stance with hands high.  Leg lift trigger with hand load down.  Below average athlete with ok barrel.  Contact is inconsistent with ground ball to fly ball result.  84 mph exit velocity.  IF- Fields ball out in front with a tendency to get the glove out late.  Slow feet around bag.  71 mph arm strength with ok carry and accuracy. 

Jonathan Bunce C/OF Edina (MN) 2020
6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  7.30 runner.  Leg lift trigger that is up and down into a slight arm bar.  Above average strong frame.  Mid/pull approach that tends to hook baseball.  Good line drive and fly ball contact.  89 mph exit velocity.  C- Good balance.  Works low to high but tends to stab when receiving.  Strong and holds pitches well in zone.  1.94-2.00 pop time.  Solid feet and exchange.  79 mph arm strength with good carry and accuracy to bag. 

Will Busch C New Prague (MN) 2020
6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  6.97 runner.  Balanced set-up.  Small stride to swing with a slight arm bar.  Strong stiff swing.  Good frame with present strength.  Gap to gap approach with ground ball to fly ball contact.  90 mph exit velocity.  C- Balanced and average receiver.  Strong hands that handle pitches well.  1.94-1.97 pop time.  Quick feet and transfer with good direction.  Solid accuracy and carry with downhill flight to bag.  79 mph arm strength. 

Reiss Calvin SS/2B, Woodbury (MN) 2021
5-foot-6, 130-pound switch-hitting middle infielder. 7.71 runner.  Swing is very similar from both sides. LHH- Slight rock back load.  Has some inside/out to contact.  Simple swing that is repeatable. Gap to gap approach and stays on the baseball through contact.  RHH- A little more rhythm to start.  Mechanics are simple and bat path works direct to contact.  Mostly ground ball contact with the ability to use the whole field.  67 mph exit velocity.  IF- Has good actions in the field, stays below the ball and works through the baseball with good hands and feet.  Arm is short and repeatable with good accuracy to bag.  71 mph arm strength.  Will need physical maturity and strength gains.  Follow in the 2021 class

Zach Carden SS/RHP Benilde St. Margaret’s (MN) 2020
6-foot, 175-pound lefthanded hitting two-way player.  7.02 runner.  Stacked set-up.  Leg lift with a rock to load and high back elbow.  Good frame that shows bat speed. Line drive and fly ball swing plane. Mid/pull approach with pop in bat.  88 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average hands in field.  Fields ball out in front.  Tends to stab with a stiff wrist.  Solid carry and accuracy to bag with 84 mph arm strength.  Could grow into a corner guy. 

Payton Case 3B/SS Shakopee (MN) 2019
5-foot-6, 155-pound right-handed hitting third baseman.  7.47 runner.  Narrow stance with high back elbow set-up.  Stride with shoulder load.  Slight dive into plate with inside out swing path.  Below average contact with gap to gap approach.  82 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average feet and hands.  Fields ball out in front with some funnel.  Accurate arm with below average carry.  81 mph arm strength. 

Andrew Christopherson OF/1B Totino Grace (MN) 2020
6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  6.65 runner.  Balance start into an arm bar hand load.  Swing is stiff with slash contact.  Gap to gap approach with ground ball to fly ball contact.  72 mph exit velocity.  OF- Raw actions with average glove.  Short arm action on 71 mph arm strength.  Elevated throws to target with some sling that loses carry. 

Jacob Contreras 3B/RHP Osseo (MN) 2020
6-foot-2, 200-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.27 runner.  Narrow stance load into an arm bar.  Strong swing with a mid/pull approach.  Consistently barrel baseballs with line drive contact.  88 mph exit velocity.  IF- Sure hands with average feet.  Stops to field at times.  79 mph arm strength that’s accurate with carry.  On mound- Good balance and throws slightly across body.  Fastball is 78-81 mph has some running action and drives ball downhill well.  Good shape and spin on 73-75 mph curveball that lands for strikes.  Late run and sink on above average change-up.  Follow on mound.

Ben Dandelet RHP Stillwater (MN) 2020
6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed throwing pitcher.  Good frame. Slight turn to start and fluid delivery.  Good direction down mound with hard titled 85-87 mph fastball.  Tough angle to square.  Lacks command and consistently missed arm side.  Sharp 11/5 curveball at 72-73 mph with arm speed. Good feel for 77-79 mph change-up with fade.

Teddy Deters SS/RHP Orono (MN) 2021
6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.06 runner.  Simple set-up with a leg lift load.  Easy swing.  Stays on ball well with a solid swing plane.  Gap to gap approach and line drive hitter.  83 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average feet and hands.  Fields ball out in front with some squat.  Throws have good carry and accuracy to bag.  79 mph arm strength. On mound- Balanced and repeatable delivery.  Short arm action with wrap on backside.  Slight down hill fastball with varying action at 77-79 mph.  61-63 mph curveball is out early and loose.  Change-up has tumbling action at 66-67 mph.

Jake Deutsch SS/RHP New Prague (MN) 2020
5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  6.82 runner.  Balanced start with good rhythm.  Small leg lift trigger into swing.  Mid/pull approach that flashes pop in barrel.  Line drive solid contact through round.  85 mph exit velocity.  IF- Athletic movements with good hands and feet.  Fields ball out in front clean.  Arm is short with good carry and accuracy to bag.  82 mph arm strength.  On mound- Balance and good direction in delivery.  Fastball is 80-83 mph with varying action and some effort.  Breaking ball is thrown for strikes consistently at 65-67 mph.  Change-up is firm with cut action.

Cole Dingee RHP/3B Roseville (MN) 2020
6-foot-1, 184-pound right-handed hitting two-way player. 7.30 runner.  Wide open stance into a toe tap load.  Stiff slashy swing that is sneaky strong.  Flashed solid line drive gap to gap contact.  79 mph exit velocity.  IF- Funky, fields ball with one hand.  Moves ok to ball with average feet and glove.  75 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy.  On mound- Rock from side to side and small turn in.  Stiff legs with all arm throwing motion.  Cut action to a 76-78 mph fastball.  Curveball is 62-64 mph with wobbly 11/5 shape.  Change-up is flat with push release. 

Nolan Drill 3B/RHP New Ulm (MN) 2020
5-foot-9, 170-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.40 runner.  Upright start into a small stride forward.  Strength in swing with solid pop.  Swing plane can work down to ball.  Flashes hard contact with a mid/pull approach.  82 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average actions.  Moves feet ok to ball and fields ball in front.  Hands can be a little stiff.  Short arm action with 76 mph arm strength.  Lacks some carry and accuracy on throws.  On mound- Good balance and direction in delivery.  Upright on release with a short arm action.  Fastball has slight running action at 73-75 mph.  Curveball is 63-65 mph with slight 12/6 shape and tends to flick wrist to throw.  Solid fade and sink on change-up.

Raleigh Droel OF/3B St. Thomas Academy (MN) 2020
5-foot-11, 190-pound right handed hitting outfielder.  7.15 runner.  Wider stance with a load back and leg lift.  Swing plane works down to contact and tends to collapse on back side.  Shows strength and pop in bat.  Mid/pull approach with average contact.  86 mph exit velocity.  OF- Decent actions with good glove and instincts.  Solid arm at 82 mph.  Average carry with good accuracy. 

Jake Edwards LHP Superior (WI) 2021
6-foot-2, 160-pound left-handed throwing pitcher.  Narrow start into a balanced delivery.  Throws a little across body.  Tends to fall off the mound hard.  High ¾ arm action with straight 73-76 mph fastball.  Curveball is 61-62 mph with loose spin and early 1/7 shape.  Inconsistent 66-68 mph change-up with average feel. 

Luke Erickson 1B/LHP Orono (MN) 2021
6-foot, 185-pound left-handed hitting two -way player.  7.41 runner.  Balanced stance with hands back.  Strong stiff swing with a mid/pull approach.  Flat swing plane with consistent contact.  Mostly groundballs and line drives. 75 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average feet and hands. Tends to field ball deep. 67 mph arm strength with little carry. On mound- Funky mechanics.  Fastball has varying action at 72-73 mph.  Curveball thrown at 56-58 mph and has early 1/7 break.  Change-up is overall average. 

Christian Fiedler OF/2B Shakopee (MN) 2021
5-foot-9, 140-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  7.78 runner.  Balanced start with small load and stride.  Tends to lose balance through swing.  Barrel comes across ball at contact with short finish.  Fly ball to ground ball contact with mid/pull approach. 78 mph exit velocity. OF- Raw feet and glove.  Short arm action with 76 mph arm strength.  Throws are online with good carry and accuracy. 

Nick Foster C/3B Wayzata (MN) 2020
6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.06 runner.  Upright stance and a long stride to contact.  Slight arm bar with average swing.  Mid/pull approach that flashes decent pop to the middle of the field.  89 mph exit velocity.  C- Off-balanced setup.  Glove travels into body to receive.  Works low to high and sticks pitches in zone.  2.19-2.33 pop time.  Average transfer with slow feet.  72 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy to bag.  On mound- Easy delivery that bring hands over head.  Hands break with a hard stab behind.  Works downhill at 76-79 mph with varying fastball action.  Breaking ball tends to back up thrown at 60-62 mph.  Average action on change-up and thrown with good arm speed.

Dalton Fouquette SS/RHP Becker (MN) 2020
5-foot-9, 170-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.28 runner.  Shoulder width balanced set-up.  Quick hand load and stride.  Worked the middle of the field with ground ball to fly ball contact.  Showed average pop in the bat with a 75 mph exit velocity.  IF- Heavy on feet when fielding.  Tends to field the ball under body.  Hands can get stiff.  Throws had average carry and accuracy with 77 mph arm strength.  On mound- Balanced smooth wind-up that bring hands over head.  Throws slightly across body with a short arm action.  Fastball is 78-80 mph with some run and sink.  Short break 11/5 curveball thrown at 65-68 mph.  Change-up is firm with occasional fade.

Kyle Gagnon 2B/OF Totino Grace (MN) 2020
5-foot-10, 165-pound left-handed hitting second baseman.  6.82 runner.  Upright balanced start with a toe tap to stride.  Slight arm bar through contact with a stiff finish.  Gap to gap approach with average pop.  Mainly fly ball hitter with occasional line drive contact.  77 mph exit velocity.  IF- Moves athletically to baseball with average actions.  Stays below ball well and fields out in front.  Arm strength of 74 mph with good carry and accuracy on throws. 

Brock Goelz OF/SS Maple Lake (MN) 2020
5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  6.89 runner.  Lower athletic start with small stride and minimal hand load.  Strong pop for size.  Swing plane is hard line drive contact with a middle pull approach.  83 mph exit velocity.  OF- Athletically moves to ball.  Average feet and glove.  75 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy to target.

Austin Gordon SS/OF Prior Lake (MN) 2020
6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitting short-stop.  6.90 runner.  Athlete with sneaky pop.  Rhythm can be choppy in load and develop slight arm bar.  Gap to gap approach with line drive contact.  Solid bat and size.  85 mph exit velocity.  IF- Moves athletically to ball with a slight bent over fielding position.  Fields the ball well out in front.  74 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy. 

James Grindle 3B/RHP Champlin Park (MN) 2021
5-foot-11, 195-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.95 runner.  Wide stance with heel pop trigger load.  OK swing plane that flashes pop in barrel.  Gap to gap approach with line drive contact.  Tends to cut swing off with a short finish.  84 mph exit velocity.  IF- Below average feet with ok glove.  Fields ball deep at times.  70 mph arm strength with accuracy to bag.  On mound- Balanced through delivery.  Wrap on backside arm action. Fastball is 70-73 mph with slight run and sink.  Early loose break on 59-62 mph curveball.  Change-up is thrown solid fade. 

Joe Grochala C/SS Wayzata (MN) 2021
5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  7.15 runner.  Simple set up with a rock to load.  Small stride where hands drift back to a slight arm bar.  Makes consistent hard line drive contact.  Gap to gap approach and with added strength ball will continue to jump off bat.  80 mph exit velocity.  C- Solid balanced set up. Has the tendency to reach for pitches that cause a longer transfer.  2.25-2.34 pop time.  Feet had good direction but can continue to get quicker.  71 mph arm strength with good carry to bag.

Thomas Gross SS/RHP Minnetonka (MN) 2020
6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.51 runner.  Balanced set-up with leg lift load.  Short to consistent hard contact.  Gap to gap approach with pop to middle of the field.  Tends to force elevating baseball by collapse on backside.  82 mph exit velocity. IF- Fields ball well out in front.  Solid overall hands and feet.  85 mph arm strength with good carry and accuracy to bag.  On mound- Balanced start with good direction down mound.  Fastball has late running action and thrown at 81-83 mph.  Tumbling break on a 66-69 mph curveball with late depth and 11/5 shape.  Change-up is average with some fade. 

TJ Guggenberger 2B/C Heritage Christian Academy (MN) 2020
6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed hitting second baseman.  7.50 runner.  Starts with weight slightly back.  Small leg lift to stride.  Tends to spin off at contact.  Middle of the field approach with ground ball contact.  81 mph exit velocity.  IF- OK hands with heavy feet. Fields ball out in front and slinger type arm action.  73 mph arm strength with accurate arm and carry. 

Mitchel Gutknecht LHP/1B Hill-Murray (MN) 2020
6-foot-2, 160-pound left-handed hitting two-way player.  7.15 runner.  Tall stance with high tucked hands.  Small toe tap stride and lacks rhythm in load.  Swing is stiff through contact and finish.  Mid/pull approach with ground ball to fly ball contact.  78 mph exit velocity.  IF- Moves feet ok and stays through ball with glove.  Average hands and fields ball out in front.  Arm strength is 78 mph and has some small tail to target.  On mound- Good size on mound.  Balanced delivery and throws across body.  Arm slot is ¾ and fastball has late varying action for strikes 78-80 mph.  Lands 1/7 curveball at 64-66 mph for strikes with solid shape and depth.  Change-up has good feel with above average fade.  Follow on mound.

Ethan Haugen OF/3B New London-Spicer (MN) 2020
5-foot-8, 145-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  6.93 runner.  Simple balanced set-up with high hands.  Hand load slightly down with small stride.  Looks comfortable in box.  Not much lower half and some hand drop to contact which causes some roll-over result.  Middle approach with a clean bat path at times.  75 mph exit velocity.  OF- Athletic in field with a solid glove.  Tends to take some time to release baseball.  Throws are elevated to plate with 81 mph arm strength.

Jonah Hoeg 1B/3B Prior Lake (MN) 2020
6-foot-1, 210-pound right-handed hitting first baseman.  7.28 runner.  Slightly open stance into leg lift load back.  Strong and balanced through swing.  Good swing plane with hard line drive contact.  Gap to gap approach with mainly line drive and fly ball result.  Can have the tendency to swing down to ball.  92 mph exit velocity.  IF- Good feet and hands.  Fields ball out in front and moves well around bag.  79 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy. 

Lucas Houske C/OF Prior Lake (MN) 2020
6-foot, 170 pound right-handed hitting catcher.  7.46 runner.  Squared balanced stance with a compress load and hand load down.  Inside out funky swing.  Ground ball to fly ball contact.  Middle of field approach with inconsistent barrel.  84 mph exit velocity.  C- Balanced stance and works low to high.  Tends to lose glove and gets pulled out of zone.  2.44-2.56 pop time.  Long transfer and feet.  Takes time to deliver baseball with 65 mph arm strength.  Average accuracy that loses carry to bag. 

Teyghan Hovland RHP Austin (MN) 2021
6-foot-4, 185-pound right-handed throwing pitcher. Big projectable frame.  Balanced start and fluid delivery.  Good direction down mound.  Short arm action with slight run to 81-83 mph Fastball. Curveball velocity has improved to 67-70 mph. Lacks feel for breaking ball with 12/6 shape.  Change-up is firm and flat at 75-79 mph.

6-foot-1, 192-pound lefthanded hitting catcher.  7.76 runner.  Low crouched stance into a rock back leg lift.  Uses the whole field well. Mainly line drives.  Good contact with a little inside/out swing.  80 mph exit velocity.  C- Balanced set-up and works low to high when receiving.  Glove is plus with good weight transfer.  2.34-2.47 pop times.  Average transfer into an upright throwing position.  Throws slightly across body.  66 mph arm strength with average carry.

Jonathan Jones 3B/SS Edina (MN) 2021
5-foot-11, 158-pound switch-hitting infielder.  6.85 runner.  LHH- Tall balance start with a leg lift to hand load back.  Inside/out swing at times with a mid/away approach.  Stays upright through swing and contact.   Spray hitter with average contact.  RHH- Similar leg lift and load as the left side.  Shows more strength from right side.  Flashed line drive pop with a gap to gap approach.  80 mph exit velocity.  IF- Shows athleticism when moving to field.  Good hands but lacks rhythm and feel to field.  Short arm action with carry and good accuracy to bag.  78 mph arm strength.

Carver Kasper OF/3B Holy Family (MN) 2021
5-foot-10, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  7.57 runner.  Balance start with rhythm in a shoulder load and a small stride.  Line drive and fly ball swing plane.  Good contact using a gap to gap approach.  81 mph exit velocity.  OF- Average feet with a stiff glove at times.  Overall average arm with carry and accuracy to bag.  80 mph arm strength.

Tends to stab at ball and can be stiff in the body.  Lacks weight transfer laterally blocking.  Has a 2.20-2.36 pop time.  Slow feet with good exchange. Arm has average carry and accuracy to bag with 69 mph arm strength.

6-foot, 150-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder.  6.97 runner.  Upright position with a slight open stance.  Shoulder load to start into an easy swing with simple mechanics.  Gap to gap approach with a consistent solid line drive contact.  75 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average hands and feet with a tendency to field ball underneath body.  Loses some athleticism with a slight squat to field.  Good lateral movements and shows range when making plays on the run.  80 mph arm strength with solid with carry to bag.

5-foot-10, 200-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  6.90 runner.  Upright start with small load.  Short finish.  Average contact and uses the whole field.  Swing plane is down and has mostly fly ball contact.  88 mph exit velocity.  C- Balance when receiving.  Stabs at ball.  Handles strikes well and struggles with anything of the corners.  2.20-2.28 pop time.  Exchange is brought down, and feet can be a little long.  75 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy.

5-foot-11, 160-pound left-handed hitting two-way player.  7.34 runner.  Even balanced start with a low hand set.  Small quick stride to contact.  Swing is stiff and ground ball to fly ball contact.  Mid/away approach with an 83 mph exit velocity.  OF- Fielding actions are raw.  Can get to ball late and glove out late.  Average arm strength at 76 mph.  Throws were online with good accuracy to target. On mound- Threw from stretch.  Balanced set-up with high hands set.  Slight turn in on leg lift with good direction to plate.  Fastball has late running action at 74-76 mph.  Falls off throwing curveball.  1/7 shape that is inconsistent at 63-65 mph.  Change-up is above average and has down action with fade

5-foot-9, 140-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder.  6.65 runner.  Slight rock back leg lift and hands load down to start.  Gap to gap approach that can have an uphill swing plane.  Fly fall contact with average pop.  Average bat speed with an 81 mph exit velocity.  IF- Solid actions, fields out in front and works through baseball.  Clean exchange with slightly longer release that delivers some cut action that at times affects accuracy and carry to bag. 79 mph arm strength.  On mound- Balanced delivery with a quick turn into leg lift.  Fall down mound with good direction to the plate.  Mostly arm with limited lower half.  Fastball is straight and 77-79 mph.  Curveball is 68-71 mph and has sharp 11/5 break.  Solid feel for change-up at 68-70 that is thrown for strikes.

5-foot-11, 175-pound right handed hitting first baseman.  7.50 runner.  Squared balanced start into a leg lift load.  Slight arm bar and aggressive pull hitter.  Solid bat speed.  Tends to try and lift baseball with mainly fly ball and line drive contact.  88 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average feet and hands.  Fields ball out in front and funnels in to body.  77 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy to bag.

6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed throwing, right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.20 runner.  Balanced start into load back.  Raw overall swing that flashed hard line drive contact.  Gap to gap approach with 85 mph exit velocity.  OF- Raw action with average feet and glove.  Elevated throws to target.  Average carry with 88 mph arm strength.  On mound- Throws across body.  Late run on 77-79 mph fastball with deception.  Good shape and spin on 1/7 curveball at 63-65 mph.  Above average change-up thrown with good arm speed. 

Gavin Zurn RHP/1B Stillwater (MN) 2021
6-foot-4, 215-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.27 runner. Big body and good size.  Narrow stance with a toe tap load.  Pull swing that flashes hard line drive contact.  Cuts swing off to finish.  Good swing plane but works around baseball.  83 mph exit velocity.  IF- Average feet and hands.  Moves ok around bag.  85 mph arm strength with good carry and accuracy to bag.  On mound- Projectable frame. Good balance and direction through delivery.  Varying action on 85-87 mph fastball.  Curveball at 70-72 mph is tight with good 11/5 shape.  Slight run and fade on change-up.  Follow on mound in 2021 class.
