Saturday, March 23 finally brought some sunshine and mild temperatures across the state, and many teams were taking advantage of it on the diamond.  A look at scores and highlights around Kentucky.

(No.1) Lexington Catholic 10  Bishop Brossart 0 (5 innings)
Nick Nash collected 3 hits and 3 RBI and Logan Banks and Evan Fraliex each drove in 2 runs as Lexington Catholic cruised to victory.  Ben Coates allowed just 1 hit in 4 innings of work with 6 K’s to pick up his first win of the season.

Unsigned senior RHP Corey Wells threw a 5 inning, complete game no-hitter with 6 K’s to pick up his second win of the season.  Riley Jackson and Evan Fraliex each had 2 RBI in the winning cause for the Knights.

(No.2) Woodford County 5  Mercer County 2
Senior JT O’Reel went 3-4 with an RBI to lead Woodford County to victory.  Senior Logan Parrett threw 4 scoreless innings to pick up the victory.

(No.4) Tates Creek 7  Henry Clay 0
Five Tates Creek pitchers combined to shut out Henry Clay on 1 hit.  Junior Blake Rose collected 2 hits and 2 RBI and Javon Shelby tripled as Tates Creek won the season opener.

(No.6) LCA 13  Johnson Central 3 (6 innings)
Taylor Blair tripled, and David Malicote delivered a bases loaded triple as LCA cruised to victory.  Senior Ryan Bale tossed 3 innings to record the win.

(No.7) Henderson County 15  (No.17) Bowling Green 5
Henderson County exploded for 9 runs in the 7th inning to put the game away.  Kaleb Duckworth had a 3-4 day at the plate, and Justin Cessna went 2-3 with 3 RBI.  Colton Jones racked up 8 K’s in 4 innings of relief to record the win.  Ben Morrison homered in the loss for Bowling Green.

(No.8) Central Hardin 2  Butler 0
Junior Josh Krupinski allowed just 1 hit over 5 innings to pick up the victory.  Krupinski was in complete command racking up 10 K’s along the way.  Zachery Ditto had an RBI double for Central Hardin.

(No.10 Russell County 11  (No.17) Bowling Green 6
Senior Tyler Robertson went 2-3 with a double and 5 RBI to power Russell County past Bowling Green.  Junior Alex Turner picked up the win, throwing 2 innings in relief.

(No.11) Collins 5  North Oldham 4
Austin Perry tripled and drove in 2 runs as the Titans stayed red hot, moving to 8-0 on the season.  Zach Wiley started and went 4 innings for the win, while Dan Sanders tossed the final 3 innings to pick up the save.

(No.13) Paul Laurence Dunbar 5  Franklin County 2
Michael Marsh doubled and scored twice, and Nicky Avioli added 2 hits and 2 RBI in the victory.  Tyler Brummer shut down the Franklin County offense on 3 hits in the complete game effort to pick up the win.

(No.16) West Jessamine 3  Ballard 1
Tyler Adams collected 2 hits to lead West Jessamine to the victory.

(No.18) Madison Central 12  Clark County 2
Senior Jimmy Wright remained red hot to start the season, blasting his second grand slam of the season as Madison Central broke open a close game with 3 runs in the 5th and 6 runs in the 6th.  Kirt Caldwell picked up the win as Madison Central remained undefeated.

Boone County 7  Desales 3
Senior Tyler Schultz drove in 2 runs, and senior Nick Ingram went 5 innings to record the first victory of the season for Boone County.

Danville 14  Bullitt Central 1 (5 innings)
Chase Ransdell had 3 hits, and Will Graham and JB Williams each collected 3 RBI as Danville won in 5 innings.  Cole Phillips picked up the win on the mound for the Admirals.

Bullitt Central picked up the split in the double-header as Dillon Neal drove in 2 big runs for the victory.  Bradley Combs shut down the Admiral offense allowing just 1 hit and 1 run over 5 innings while collecting 8 K’s. 

East Jessamine 7  Boyle County 1
Forrest Baldwin did it all for East Jessamine, going the distance on the mound , allowing just 4 hits with 7 K’s.   Baldwin also collected 2 hits and drove in 2 runs in the victory.

Cabell County 7  Greenup County 5
Cody Ballengee drove in 3 runs, and Tyler Hayes tossed 5 2/3 innings of 2 run baseball to pick up the win.

Sayre 11  Iroquois 1 (5 innings)
Mason Stockham and Mason Jasko each drove in 2 runs in the victory.  John Van Balen racked up 8 K’s in 5 innings of work to pick up the win.

Sayre 15  Iroquois 2 (5 innings)
Mason Stockham and Michael Flora each collected 3 hits to lead the Sayre offense to victory.  Christian Courtney picked up the win on the mound.

Atherton 11  Fairdale 4
Atherton exploded for six runs in the 6th inning to break open a close game.  Nate DeNicola went 3-4 with 2 RBI to lead the offensive attack. 

Washington County 12  Casey County 6
Junior Adam Smith had a 4 hit day while driving in 3 runs to lead the Washington County offense.  Junior Travis Mattingly went the distance to record the victory.

Fern Creek 8  John Hardin 5
Austin Railey hit and pitched the Tigers to victory going 2-3 at the plate, and throwing 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win.  Evan Flener drove in 3 runs to aid in the victory.

Kentucky Country Day 9  Carroll County 2
Henry Crockett had a big day for the Bearcats, going 3-4 with 2 RBI at the plate and shutting down the Carroll County offense, racking up 7 K’s in 5 innings on the mound.  Casey Klein and Zach Lyles added 2 hits each for KCD.

Lone Oak 9  Union City, TN 2
Seth English went 4-4, and Drew Schmitt added 3 hits and 3 RBI as Lone Oak moved to 5-1 on the season.  Cody Draffen allowed 2 runs over 6 innings of work to pick up the victory.

Bethlehem 15  Caverna 2 (5 innings)
Collin Crawford collected 3 hits and 2 RBI, and Conner Ballard and Blake Brangers drove in 3 runs apiece as Atherton recorded the lopsided victory.

Conner 10  Dixie 0 (5 innings)
Cameron Fogle doubled, tripled, and scored 3 runs in leading Conner to victory.  Junior Blake Hart added 3 RBI in the winning cause.  Brady Smiley picked up the win by tossing 4 innings of 1-hit baseball.

Conner 11  Lloyd 0 (5 innings)
Brady Padgett went 2-3 with 2 RBI, and Cameron Fogle stroked his second triple of the day as Conner cruised to victory.  Austin Price threw 4 innings of no-hit baseball to record the win.

Boyle County 10  Model 4
Casey Whittle doubled, homered, and drove in 4 runs in the victory for Boyle County.  Junior RHP Micah Miniard (WKU recruit) racked up 12 K’s in 6 innings of work to record the victory.

Franklin County 3  Eastern 0
Quenton Brownlee did it all for the Flyers collecting 2 hits at the plate while going the distance in the complete game victory.  Brownlee allowed just 3 hits and struck out 5 over his 7 innings of work.

Calloway County 1  Dyer County, TN 0
Connor Wagner threw a complete game, 2-hit shutout for Calloway County, recording 7 K’s along the way.

Bath County 6  Mason County 2
Brandon Fryman scattered 4 hits over 6 innings to earn the win.  Broderick Moore paced the Bath County offense with a 2-4 day at the plate.

Owensboro Catholic 11  Nelson County 1 (5 innings)
Junior Jordan Payne allowed 3 hits and 1 run over 5 innings to record the win for Owensboro Catholic.

Boyd County 6  Prestonburg 3
Sophomore catcher Jacob Barnwell had a 2 hit day, and Jake Cook added a HR in the victory.  Billy McCoy went 6 innings to pick up the win for Boyd County.

Christian County 7  Apollo 4
Freshman Dixon Craft went 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI to lead the Christian County offensive attack. 

Shelby County 12  Thomas Nelson 0
Kam Bruner and Zach Holmes each drove in 3 runs to lead Shelby County to the win.

Clay County 12  McCreary Central 3
Tanner Smith had 3 hits, and Tyler Allen drove in 4 runs in the Clay County victory.  Trevor Sams allowed 2 runs in 6 innings to record the win.

Rockcastle County 5  Clay County 2
Rockcastle County made the most of 2 hits and held on for the win.  Sophomore Austin Emory went the distance to record the win, allowing just 4 hits in his 7 innings of work.

Meade County 12  Todd County Central 0 (5 innings)
Senior Jake Wilson struck out 8 in the complete game effort as Meade County won big.

Pulaski County 7  Knox Central 3
Aaron Smith doubled, tripled, and drove in 3 runs to power Pulaski County to victory.  Dustin Vaught racked up 7 K’s in going the distance to pick up the complete game win.

Brayden Imel doubled and drove home 3 runs as Knox Central outlasted Pulaski County in the high-scoring affair.

Senior Ben Hachten went 3-3 with a triple and 4 RBI to power Manual to the win.

AJ Tagaloa homered and drove in 2 runs to lead the Cordia offensive attack.
