Prep Baseball Report

March 26th Daily Roundup

Yes, it's beginning to sound like a broken record, but mother nature, once again, caused a very abbreviated number of games to be played across the state last evening.

Owensboro Catholic continues to impress as they have now won 6 games in a row to begin the season.  What is more impressive is that 3 of those wins have come against teams ranked in the PBR Power 25 released last week.  I have a sneaking suspicion the Aces may find themselves in the Power 25 when the rankings are updated later today.

Here is a look at scores and highlights reported from around the state yesterday.  Let's hope for better weather to show up soon.

Owensboro Catholic 14  (No.24) Daviess County 4
Louisville recruit Mason Richardson struck out 11 in picking up the victory for the Aces who are now 6-0 to start the season.

Whitfield Academy 3  Kentucky Country Day 0
Senior Ryan Woosley threw a complete game, 3-hit shutout while racking up 17 K’s to lead Whitfield to victory.  Junior Nate Getzin drove in 2 runs in the winning cause.

Graves County 2  Heath 0
Tanner Smith and Justin Hayden combined for a no-hitter with 11 K’s.  The only hit of the night for either team belonged to Colton Aldridge as Graves County managed to scratch across 2 runs for the victory.
