C.D. Hylton outfielder and 2014 Fall Prospect Games participant Ben Marotske has committed to attend Randolph Macon in the fall of 2016. Marotske is the fifth member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2016 to commit to play ball after graduation, joining Christian Colangelo (1B, Mary Washington), Blake Coleman (OF, Maryland Eastern Shore), Spencer Laitinen (C, Eastern Mennonite) and Fox Semones (MIF/RHP, James Madison). Hylton is poised to have a strong spring with one of the deeper cores in their conference as the Bulldogs look to return to the 6A South Regional Tournament.

Scouting Report:

Marotske’s set-ups mimic one another from both the right and left side. He starts from a tall balanced stance with very high hands. In both stances, he exhibits a lot of rhythm and balance. From the left side, Marotske gets through the baseball with a more natural finish and has a more violent stroke. From the right side, Marotske sprays the ball to the opposite field. In the outfield, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a long and loose arm action. His throws were accurate and had carry and he has soft hands. Marotske’s footwork and exchanges were clean and quick. He is a great athlete that plays through the ball and can run them down when needed and he had a positional velocity of 77 mph.

Congrats Ben!
