March is finally here and baseball tryouts have officially hit the ground running for Public Schools across the Old Line State. This year, we have decided to keep the same format as last year as we will keep two separate rankings throughout the Spring season. All Maryland Private schools will be considered in this year's weekly PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10 rankings while only Public schools will be considered in our traditional PBR Maryland Public Schools Power 25. An update to these rankings will be released every Monday throughout the season.

Season Snapshot

After losing in heartbreak fashion last season in the 2A State Championship, the Pointers look to make it back to the state championship game in 2022 with a roster that will look very similar to last year. Sparrows Point will be senior heavy this season, which will bode well for what looks to be another successful season.

Led by Senior two-way Mark Shelley (Bethany College), the Pointers have a slew of returning two-way players that look to make another run in 2022 including, Seniors Mikey Gamble, Adam Hamilton, Ryan Mitchell, Junior Logan Deene, and Sophomore Ryan Zickefoose. Offensively, the fire power is returning throughout this deep lineup including Shelley, Gamble, Ryan Karczmarek, Kameran Locklear, and Logan Wallace. Look for the Pointers to utilize their depth and experience on both sides of the ball this year.
