May 15th Daily Game Roundup

#1 Lake Central 8 Chesterton 1 - Taylor Lehnert threw a complete game two hitter striking out nine. Nick Kellams, Ryan Burvan and Anthony Fushi all had two hits for Lake Central.

Brownsburg 5 #2 Zionsville 3 – Logan Coughlin hit a solo homerun, Isaac  Sampen hit a two run homerun, and David Oliger had RBI single. Ty McCoy going the win throwing five innings, allowing two runs, and striking out seven.

#3 Columbus North 7 Southport 0 - Daniel Ayers threw a complete game shutout with 18 strikeouts and 4 hits. The Bulldogs were led at the plate by Senior C.J. Dennis with a 4-4 performance and three runs scored. Freshman Devin Mann, Senior Hunter Mcintosh, and Junior Coledon Hoeltke all doubled for the Bulldogs. 

#4 Huntington North 6 Kokomo 2 – Brock Gower got the win allowing just two runs. Kendall Whitman doubled and Trevor Storie tripled.

#5 Andrean 5 SB Clay 2 - Jimmy Tarala (2013) was the winning pitcher allowing two runs in 5.1 innings while striking out seven. Mark Pishkur (2012) got the five out save. Zac Ryan (2013; Georgia Tech) tripled and scored twice, Nick Tobye (2012) had two RBI, and Mike Brosseau (2012; Oakland) added a double.

#7 New Albany 8 Silver Creek 1

#8 Pendleton Heights 18 Yorktown 6 – Nick Hendershot was 3-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Mitch Patishall was 2-2 with four RBI and three runs scored and Hunter Cook was 2-3 with a double, four RBI, and a run. Parker Aul was 2-4 with a double and two runs.

#10 Homestead 16 New Haven 4 – Nick Denice was 2-3 with a double, four RBI, and two runs. Michael Redden was 2-3 with a double and two RBI, Andre Jernigan was 2-4 with a double and RBI, Austin Plasterer doubled and drove in two, Brandon Soat tripled and scored three times, and Ault was 2-2 with two doubles and two RBI.

#12 Crown Point 15 Michigan City 9 – Ronnie Plesac was 2-3 with homerun and three RBI. Nickla and Morgan were both 2-4 with two RBI, Nickla triple and Morgan doubled. Brett Bayer doubled and drove in a run, Jake Lindeman tripled and drove in two, and Kutemeier drove in two runs.

#23 Carroll 5 DeKalb 1 – Peyton Lengacher picked up the complete game victory allowing three hits, one earned run, and striking out five. He was also 2-4 at the plate with two doubles and a RBI. Ross Koble was 3-4 with two run, Dure Tranquill homered and drove in two, and Elliot Ford was 2-4 with a double and a RBI.

#24 Fishers 12 Lafayette Jefferson 8 - The offense caught fire in the final 2 innings with 3 triples (Parker Lasch, JP Pena, and Matt Woolwine) and back-to-back homeruns by Blake Baumgartner and Clay Small. Woolwine finished 3-3 with three RBI. Pena and Lasch contributed two hits each. Pena finished with three RBI. The Tigers used 3 pitchers tonight. Derek Ely started and threw 3 innings. Baumgartner worked 2.1 innings of middle relief before Drew Clark came on for the final 4 outs for his 2nd win in relief.

Bloomington North 11 #25 Lawrence Central 9 – Adam Cornwell was 2-5 with a homerun, four RBI, and two runs. Blake Richardson was 2-4 with a double and a RBI, Michael Oliphant was 2-3 with a RBI, Bryce Aldridge was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Tyler Hurt was 2-3 with a RBI, Colby Stratten was 2-3 with two runs, and Brice Stratton was 2-4 with a double and a RBI. John Jones was 2-4 with a homerun and four RBI for LC.

Hamilton Southeastern 10 Lafayette Harrison 2 – Brendan Burns led the offense going 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Joel Naab was 2-2 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored. Justin Striebel was 1-1 with a RBI and three runs and Tre Gantt and Wes Edrington each drove in a run.

Westfield 2 Noblesville 0 – Wade Burtron threw a complete game allowing just five hits, two walks, and striking out nine. At the plate he was 1-2with a run scored. Alec Nelson, Brandon Gray, and Bailey Partlow all had a hit. Ben Yoder took the loss going 5.1 innings, allowing four hits, two unearned runs, and striking out nine.

Plainfield 12 Mooresville 6 - Matt Keltner went five innings striking out 6 to earn the win and 1B Gabe Burkhardt was 3-5 with 2 homeruns (solo and grand slam).  Tyler Garzinski added another solo home run and Dillon Hughes was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and Alec Caprarella was 1-2 with 3 runs scored.  Both Caprarella and Hughes added stolen bases.

Oak Hill 12 Northfield 8 – Derek Durkis was 4-5, Ethan Bowland hit a solo homerun, Tony Dunham was 2-3 with a homerun, and Ryan Spaulding was 2-4 with a double. Ryan Keaffaber was 2-4 with a homerun and three RBI for Northfield.

Hamilton Heights 15 Peru 9 – Nic Pickett had a big day at the plate going 3-4 with a double, homerun, four RBI, and two runs. Spencer Dull was also 3-4 with a triple, two RBI, and four runs scored. Landon Cunningham was 2-4 with a homerun, three RBI, and three runs, Logan Cunningham was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and three runs, Colton Elbrecht was 2-4 with three RBI and a run, and Jeff Carr was 2-4 with a double, RBI, and run.

Columbus East  6 East Central 1 – Kellen Otto threw a complete game allowing eight hits, one run, and striking out three. Cam Curry led the offense going 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored. Yates Burkhart was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs scored.

Lawrence North 4 North Central 2 - Nick Weybright threw a complete game allowing two hits, no earned runs, and striking out eight. Julian Flanary was 2-3 with a triple and two RBI. Craig Larew was 2-3 with a RBI, Brady Boles was 2-3 with a RBI, Elias Arnett was 2-3 with a double. 

Beech Grove 10 Lapel 5 - Zach Barkdull led the offense going 3-5 with a double, two RBI, and two runs. Christian Little was 3-3 with a RBI and two runs. Jonathon Hicks with two RBI and a run, Jonathon Cincebox was 2-5 with a double and two runs, Tommy Blazek was 2-3 with a double and a run, and Justin Gates was 2-4 with a RBI and a run.
