May 8 Daily Game Roundup



No. 1 Liberty 6         Staley 3: Taylor Harmon hit a first inning solo homerun on his way to a two for two afternoon to set the tone for the Liberty Blue Jays. Todd Hinkley drove in two runs and Lucas Norton went tow for three in the wining effort. Starter Ross Juliana improved his record to 4-0, scattering five hits over five innings and striking out two. 

No. 3 Westminster 3   St. Charles West 0: Ben Lovell improved his record to 7-0 with a four hit, eight strikeout shut out of St. Charles West on Tuesday afternoon. Luke Turner provided the offense going three for three with a double and two RBIs 

No. 4 Springfield Catholic 6 Mountain Grove 0: Jack Wolfe had three hit and two RBIs and Colin Shaughnessy picked up two RBIs on two hits to lead the Catholic offense. Dylan Love and Devin Merz had two hits a piece in the win.

No. 6 Vianney 3        Chaminade 6: Austin Allen, Matthew Donahoe, Jake Goessling, Nathan Sponsler, Joseph Tanner, and Brendan Carney each collected an RBI in the upset of Vianney. Sponsler also picked up the win, with a complete game four hitter, allowing only two earned runs 

No. 8 Savannah 12 Lafayette 2: Savannah collected their fourth consecutive Midland Empire Conference crown with a 12-2 win over Lafayette on Tuesday. Blake McFadden got it done with the bat, going five for five with two RBIs and three runs scored to lead the fifteen hit effort of Savannah. Caleb Bounds picked up the win on the mound.

No. 10 Parkway South 1     Lindbergh 5: In the wacky and wild Suburban West Conference, Lindberg shut down the Parkway South offense behind a complete game effort of Jordan Harmon. Zak Jones’ two for three, two RBI effort and Jack Manley’s one for three, two RBI afternoon led the Flyer offense in the upset.

No. 11 Francis Howell Central 3             St. Dominic 2

No. 13 Logan-Rogersville 0           Republic 3: Garrett Wood allowed three hits and struck out thirteen in shutting out Logan-Rogersville. Nathan Strobel led the Republic offense, going one for three with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. Dustin Eby had one hit and the other RBI for Republic in the win 

No. 15 Chaffee 9       East Prairie 1

No. 17 Blue Springs South 0         Raymore-Peculiar 5 

No. 21 Valle Catholic 10    St. Vincent 0: Alec Greminger went two for two and reached base four times in Valle’s shutout of St. Vincent. Thomas Herman had two hits and scored two runs, and Justin Roth struck out six in a two hit shutout effort.

No. 23 Francis Howell 6     Ft. Zumwalt North 2: Jake Helwig led the Howell offense, going two for three with a double and three RBIs, and Austin Schneider chipped in with two RBIs. Austin Southmayd picked up the win in relief with two innings of no hit ball.

No. 24 Eureka 4        Oakville 3: Alex Stephens doubled, tripled and drove in two runs, and Trevor Fain hit a solo homerun as Eureka got by Suburban West conference foe Oakville.

Webster Groves 5    Summit 3 (8 innings): In the winter it was Summit pitcher Rudy May who got the best of Webster Groves’ Kyle Ulrich in the district championship for wrestling, Wednesday is was redemption for Ulrich, who smashed a two run game winning home run off of May, leading Webster to their tenth consecutive win and capturing the Suburban South Conference title. Peter Fairbanks had two hits, including a home run for Webster and drove in three.

Festus 11       Perryville 4: Festus has gotten hot at the right time, with their eight win in a row, defeating Perryville 11-4. During the win streak, Festus has scored double digits seven times. 

Caleb Wilkerson had a two for four game with three RBIs and Zach Faulkner had three hit and two RBIs to lead the Festus offense. Tim Gurnow went one for three with an RBI and three runs scored.

Kickapoo 4               Webb City 0: Cole Macchi threw three and a third inning of one hit ball in relief to pick up the win, while Brodie Kern, Ryan Stevens, and Zack Elledge each had an RBI on the afternoon.

Clayton 3       Windsor 2: Freshman John Howard picked up another win, going six innings of three hit ball and striking out six. Gabe Jacus and Sam Horn each had RBIs for Clayton.

Ozark 10       Glendale 7: Chaz Alderson got the win on the mound, and helped himself by going two for four with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored to lead Ozark past Glendale. Trey Faulkner had two hits, including a triple and drove in two, while Colin Fraley, Tanner Nickels, Zeke Brown, and Sawyer Alderson each picked up an RBI.

Branson 13    Parkview 6: Branson used four homeruns to power there way past Parkview 13-6. Gabe Dickinson had a three run blast, Tyler Whiteis, Ricky Ward, and Brandon Seely each had solo shots. Sam Perez and Daniel Batt each had two hits and two RBIs.

Conway 8       Skyline 0: Nathan Huckaby face one more batter than the minimum, throwing a no hitter and striking out ten batters.
