Mid-Week Matchup

Ronald Sims
Mississippi Scouting Director

North Pike, MS -  The Mississippi High School Baseball season is well underway with quality matchups occuring daily. On Thursday, our scouting staff was on hand to watch North Pike High School as they played host to Hattiesburg High School. Included in today’s Mississippi Scout Blog are notes on several players we caught in action this past week.

Dexter Jordan, UTL, Hattiesburg, 2018
Louisiana Lafayette recruit. Jordan has a strong, muscular frame 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. The right-handed hitter has an aggressive approach and loose, strong hands and flat path with a natural ability to find the barrel. Went two-for-four at the plate with two RBI and a walk. On the mound the right-hander worked with an aggressive approach, quick tempo, medium arm stroke and high-3/4 release. Jordan’s fastball was thrown at 82-87 mph with mostly straight action also flipping in a breaking ball for strike at 65-68 mph.
