Missouri High School Team Rankings: Week 5

By: Kevin Moulder & Diego Solares
PBR Missouri Staff

The Missouri high school baseball season is underway. Up to the start of the season, our staff collected various amounts of information on teams across the state. We previewed several teams as 'Opening Day' approached, including the top-10 teams in both our large school and small school rankings.

Our rankings are broken up into two divisions: large school and small schools. We classify the 'large' schools as those residing in Class 5 & 6, while the small schools make up the remaining MSHSAA classifications. We rank what we believe to be the top-10 teams in the state at that level, as well as highlighting several 'On Deck' teams.

We've updated our individual 'Large School' and 'Small School' rankings with another week of games played across the state. There is a bit of movement in this update:

+ Liberty North rises to the top spot again after taking two out of three games from previous top-ranked Blue Springs South, who now occupies the second spot on our board.

+ Fort Zumwalt West and Francis Howell flip too, with the Jaguars rising over the Vikings to three.

+ Glendale and Jackson each climb one spot after productive weeks and there is a new face at 10, with the 16-1 Eureka Wildcats debuting for the first time.

+ We also have a new team at No. 1 on the 'Small School' list for the first time, as Logan-Rogersville vaults over Springfield Catholic to the top spot, with the Irish slotting in at two.

+ Borgia rises to three after a productive week, wrapping it up with wins over Southern Boone and Kearney.

+ Kennett and Valle Catholic each rise, too. The Indians jump two spots to fifth, while the Warriors now sit at six, up three spots from their previous slot.

+ Two new teams jump into the 'Small School' top 10: Blair Oaks and Portageville. The Falcons are back on after a productive week at the Columbia Tournament, while the Bulldogs debut for the first time in 2023 with an 18-2 record to show.
