Final Score Game 1: Montague 5 North Muskegon 4

Montague saw a three run lead disappear in the top of the fifth but thanks to senior first baseman Chase Casebolt’s monster solo shot to left center field in the bottom half of the inning they held on to win and clinch the West Michigan Conference.

Highlights for North Muskegon included the performance of senior Adrian Anderson who battled on the mound and had a 3-for-4 day at the plate. Anderson’s fast ball was below average sitting at 75-77 but mixed in a 12/6 type curve ball and a change and competed well.

Not to be undone was Montague’s starting pitcher Tristen Schultz. Schultz an unsigned senior 6–foot 180-pound righty with a ¾ arm slot was 77-80 with arm side movement on his fastball. Schultz rushes through his mechanics at times but was 1.12 -1.26 from the slide step. Schultz doesn’t project a ton with his arm action and body type but seems to have good movement on his pitches and competes well.
Schultz also had two hits, two RBI and a line out on the day
