NC: East Wake & Hunt in Big Conference Matchup

In a battle of 2 teams fighting for a playoff spot Wilson Hunt scored 5 unanswered in the last 3 innings including a walk off game winning RBI single by Drew Wells to beat East Wake 8-7 Friday night. 

The game saw East Wake jump out to a 7-0 lead, heading into the bottom of the 4th.  The Warriors started the night, with an Anthony Brown double to left to leadoff the game.  Landon Miller drew a 2 out walk before Syler White singled to center to score Brown.  Miller later scored on a passed ball to build an early 2-0 lead. 

East Wake struck again with 2 runs in the 3rd, then 3 more tallies in the top of the 3rd to take a 7-0 lead. Hunt answered in their half of the 4th.  

In the 6th, training 7-4, Hunt’s Connor Radford and Ryan Bass plated 2 runs. Hunt continued to peck away in the 7th.  Gabe Cook started the inning with a leadoff walk and advanced to 2nd on an error by the catcher. Tyson Foster reached first on an error by the shortstop allowing Cook to score to tie the game at 7-7.  Drew Wells then singled to left, scoring Foster with the winning run, in walk-off fashion.  

With the win, Hunt moves to 7-14 overall and 4-8 in the Quad County 3A conference. East Wake moves to 13-9 overall and 5-7 in the Quad County 3A entering the last week of the season.
