Why did you choose Wayne State?

I liked the campus a lot and I felt like I had a strong connection with the coaching staff. Wayne State has been at the top of my list for a while so I always had my eyes set on going there.

What other schools were you considering?

Hastings, Morningside, Doane, and Mount Marty

Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?

They went to a couple of my games this summer, so I had contact with them this summer. Once I went to their Prospect Camp this summer, the relationship was really solidified.

Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

I fell in love with the culture they have up there. I wanted to be apart of a strong family, and when I went on my official visit, I felt that with the players and coaches.

Who has helped you the most to get you to where you are today?

My parents really helped me the most. From going to tournaments with me to taking time off from work, they have always been there for me. Also Ryan Ahart has helped me the most on the field. He’s helped me develop my game ever since I was 9, so he has had the most impact on me.

What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

The main plan is to get stronger and put on more weight. They think that I have a good chance of playing middle infield as a freshman, so as long as I work hard, I should be able to make an impact as a freshman.

What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

My most memorable moment has to be winning the 13U Major State Championship. It was my last year of select ball, so winning State with my longtime teammates was a great feeling.

Who is the best player you’ve competed against?

Max Anderson
