Prep Baseball Report's NE Prospect ID event took place on Monday, June 11, 2018. The event was held at Doc Ross Field on the campus of Iowa Western CC. The event featured prospects from the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 classes who showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff. Thank you to the players, parents, along with the coaching staff from Reiver Baseball for a great event and working so hard to allow this event to take place.

2019'S 

Chandler Welker, Kearney, 2B,RHP
5-foot-9, 155 pound infielder ran a 7.39 60 yard sprint. Slightly open wide stance, toe tap trigger, line drive barrel path through the zone. Mid/Pull approach. Line drive contact during round of BP. Posted an 79 mph exit velocity off a tee. In the infield, works to the ball, clean transfer to mid ¾ arm action that topped out at 69 mph across the infield.

Tristen Toelle, Lincoln Southwest, RHP
5-foot-11, 154 pound right handed pitcher topped out at 77 mph with his fastball. Quick arm with some effort in delivery, some funk on the front side. High ¾ arm slot, that is short on the backside and long outfront. 63-65 mph breaking ball has loose spin, arm slows, mostly left to his armside. Sporadic feel for 65-69 mph change up flat action, mostly left up in the zone.

Colin Campin, Omaha Burke, OF
5-foot-7, 160 pound outfielder ran a 7.16 60 yard sprint. Compact build. Open stance, short stride trigger, linear barrel, spin hitter, gets stuck on his backside, ground ball contact during round of BP. Posted an 78 mph exit velocity off a tee. Topped out at 74 mph from the outfield, easy actions, plays the ball outfront, clean transfers to a mid ¾ arm slot.

Eli Schmit, Lincoln Southeast, OF
5-foot-9, 165 pound right handed hitting outfielder ran a 7.32 60 yard sprint. Stance stance, heavy load to his back side, linear barrel path through the zone. Ground ball contact during round of BP. Posted an 75 mph exit velocity off a tee. Long ¾ arm from the outfield that topped out at 72 mph, avg. actions, ball gets deep in stance.

Coleton Kanzmeier, Concordia, RHP/SS
5-foot-10, 165 pound two way player ran a 7.45 60 yard sprint. On the mound topped out at 81 mph with his fastball. High effort delivery with some funk in his finish. Arm works clean. Pounded the strike zone with his fastball. Short break on 11/7 shape breaking ball, mostly left to his armside. Showed some feel to his armside for change up. At the plate, wide stance, short stride, compact aggressive line drive swing plane, pull side contact during round of BP. Posted an 75 mph exit velocity. In the infield, high energy actions, works straight through the ball, tendency to field deep in his stance, topped out at 79 mph across the infield.

Ryan Jungers, Lincoln Southwest, RHP
6-foot, 170 pound right handed pitcher topped out at 77 mph with his fastball. Mid ¾ arm action with some stiffness on the backside, adds deception. . Fastball has straight action, strike thrower mostly to his arm side. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape, late downward bike. Feel for change up. Athletic actions.

Eli Herink, Fremont Bergan, OF
5-foot-11, 175 pound outfield ran a 7.14 60 yard sprint. Square stance, leg kick trigger, slight arm bar, line drive swing plane, hard line drive contact to pull side during round of BP. MIddle pull approach. Posted an 87 mph exit velocity. Topped out at 80 mph from the outfield. Shows athleticism, works through the ball, long ¾ arm action, clean transfers.

Carson Kasl, Lincoln East, OF/RHP
6-foot-2, 170 pound two way player ran a 7.12 60 yard sprint. Open stance, leg kick trigger, aggressive line drive swing plane. All field approach, line drive contact during round of BP. Posted an 78 mph exit velocity off a tee. Sound actions in the infield, glove works out front, mid ¾ arm slot that topped out at 77 mph to the catcher. On the mound topped out at 74 mph with his fastball. Arm action is short on the backside, long outfront. Fastball is straight. 11/7 shape on breaking ball, good depth. Fading action on change up with fastball arm speed.

Carter Faltys, Norfolk, RHP/OF
6-foot, 185 pound two way player ran a 7.38 60 yard sprint. Square stance, short stride trigger, line drive swing plane, tendency to get stuck on backside. Middle approach, ground ball contact during round of BP. Posted an 84 mph exit velocity off a tee. Controlled actions in the outfield, plays the ball outfront, long high ¾ release that topped out at 84 mph to the catcher. On the mound, topped out at 79 mph with his fastball, front side flys open, high ¾ release, running action to his arm side. Little break on 69-70 mph slider, some depth. Change up was sporadic around the zone, little movement.

Grant Miskimins, Millard West, LHP/1B
5-foot-11, 190 pound two way player ran a 7.45 60 yard sprint. Topped out at 72 mph from a mid ¾ arm slot.  Arm is short on the backside, some stiffness on frontside. Front side is clean. 2/8 shape on breaking ball, thrown for strikes. Showed feel to both sides on the plate with change up. At the plate, square stance, simple strike, compact swing. Worked all fields during round of BP. Posted an 85 mph exit velocity off a tee.

Braden Olson, Concordia-Omaha, 3B
6-foot-1, 185 pound infielder ran a 8.69 60 yard sprint. Put together one of the top rounds of BP at the Nebraska Prospect ID consistently barreling line drives to all fields. Square stance, leg kick starts rhythm in hands, controlled linear barrel path. Posted an 74 mph exit velocity off a tee. Actions tend to get heavy in the infield, projects to the corner, hands work through the ball. Topped out at 74 mph across the infield.

Simon Gradoville, Millard North, LHP
6-foot-2, 180 pound left handed pitcher topped out at 74 mph with his fastball. Simple repeatable delivery with little effort. Arm is clean on the backside and long outfront. Leg drags through a finish. Mid ¾ slot. Pounded both sides of the strike zone with fastball. Strong feel for  64-65 mph breaking ball, ⅙ shape, late depth. 69-70 mph has heavy run and sink action to his armside.

Josh Hain, Lincoln Southwest, RHP
6-foot-1, 200 pound right handed pitcher topped out at 79 mph with his fastball. Mature build. High ¾ arm action, aggressive frontside, gets down the mound with an athletic finish. Some run on fastball. 10/6 shape breaking ball for strikes, lands it easy. Feel for change up in the strike zone, heavy action, fairly flat.

Ethan Peterson, Millard South, 1B
6-foot-4, 190 pound right handed first basemen ran a 7.57 60 yard sprint. Mature athletic frame. Wide square stance, toe tap trigger, slight hitch and arm bar, line drive swing plane. Middle of the field approach, ground ball and line drive contact during round of BP. Posted an 84 mph exit velocity off a tee. Topped out at 60 mph across the infield, average actions, stabs at the ball, feet work.

Coby Hardies, Gretna, 1B
6-foot-5, 240 pound first baseman ran a 7.84 60 yard sprint. Square stance, short stride triggers, compact slightly uphill barrel path. Looseness in hands, middle of the field appraoch, hard line drive contact during round of BP. Posted an 84 mph exit velocity. Topped out at 67 mph across the infield, flashes athleticism at first, quick transfers, accurate arm.

Tanner Huber, Gretna, C
5-foot-10, 210 pound catcher ran a 8.13 60 yard sprint. Physical frame. Open narrow stance, leg kick triggers compact uphill barrel that. All field approach, line drive and fly ball contact. Posted an 76 mph exit velocity off a tee. Behind the plate threw in the 2.07-2.28 range. Strong with glove, stiff receiver, strong at the bottom of the zone. Narrow block, quick reaction, low set up with flexible hips.
