Ohio Recruiting Notebook

Several unsigned seniors have made their commitments in anticipation of Signing Day while two of the top junior prospects gave their verbal pledge.

+ The state's top unsigned senior, RHP Zach Willeman from Napoleon HS, issued his long sought after commitment to Kent State on Monday evening. Willeman was courted by a number of big programs, including Penn State, Ohio State, Toledo, Miami, and Cincinnati. Willeman blew up at the Top Prospect Games sitting in the upper 80's with a hard breaking ball.

+ Moeller 2015 IF Josh Hollander stole the early headlines on Monday evening with his verbal pledge to Kent State. The talented athlete held offers from a number of programs including Miami and Coastal Carolina.

+ Olentangy Liberty 2015 C/IF Cam Comer issued a pledge to the University of Virginia. Comer, who is best known for his left-handed stick, was receiving interest from a number of programs, including Ohio State, Coastal Carolina, Indiana, Miami, and Cincinnati. Comer was a member of Team Ohio at the Midwest Futures Games.

+ Dayton Carroll 2014 1B Tyler Seymour issued a verbal pledge to Ashland. Earlier this fall, Seymour participate in the Fall Unsigned Senior Games at Wright State.

+ Tallmadge 2014 RHP Jason Beaumont was one of a number of recent commits to Ashland. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect saw in the low to mid 80's at the Unsigned Senior Games in August.

+ Massillon Jackson had two players come off the board as 2014 LHP Ryan Gusbar committed to Ashland and 2014 catcher AJ Kloehn committed to Lafayette. Gusbar was in the low to mid 80's at the Unsigned Senior Games in August.

+ Napoleon 2014 RHP Wes Rickenberg committed to nearby Bowling Green. Rickenberg sat in the low 80's at the Top Prospect Games and later sat in the mid 80's at the Unsigned Senior Games in August.

+ Former Hamilton HS and current Sinclair CC RHP Pat McGuff committed to Moorehead State.

+ Amherst HS 2014 infielder Kody Bledsoe committed to nearby Lake Erie. 

+ Kings HS 2014 RHP Luke Glischinski will join his older brother Ben at Ohio Northern. Like his brother, he is a big, lanky prospect. He sat in the low 80's at the Top Prospect Games in June.

+ Brecksville-Broadview Heights RHP Josh Armbruster committed to Notre Dame College. He sat in the mid 80's at the Top Prospect Games in June.
