Ohio Spotlight Game: District Final - Nordonia vs #6 Solon

Solon – In a Division I District Championship game, the Solon Comets defeated the Nordonia Knights by the score of 5-0 to advance to the regional round of the Ohio High School Tournament.

Junior right-handed pitcher Jeremy Friedman picked up his fifth win of the year for Solon.

Friedman threw six innings, allowed three hits, walked three and struck out six.

The Comet offense was led by juniors Joe Paskell and Mike Tsrionis.

The two combined for four of the teams’ ten hits. Paskell delivered the big blow, a double in the fourth capping off a three run inning.

With the win Solon improved their record to 22-4 and return to action on Thursday May 26, 2016 aagainst Mayfield.

With the loss Nordonia ends their season at 16-12.
