After a busy end of the summer, including the PBR OK Limited Series Tournament, the PBR Future Games and the Area Code Games, PBR OK takes another in-depth look at the 2021 class as they prepare for their junior campaign. The 2021 class in OK continues to show consistent progression with the top of the class moving up in the national rankings. We have expanded this rendition of the rankings to include 175 of the top players we have covered here in the Sooner State. Below we take an in-depth look at the top 3 prospects along with the top risers and newcomers in this edition.

Top 3

Retaining the first spot in the rankings is Texas Christian commit RHP/3B Gray Thomas (Heritage Hall). Thomas has a physically impressive 6-foot-5, 190-pound long limbed frame with some strength and room to add more. On the mound, the right-hander features a fastball that sits 88-92 mph from a low ¾ slot producing heavy arm-side run and sink when down in the zone. Thomas also features an elite slider with 10/4 shape and late depth and an advanced changeup with sink. Before shutting down this summer, Thomas produced a string of strong starts with high punchout numbers.

Maintaining the second spot is uncommitted RHP/SS Jackson Jobe who also attends Heritage Hall. Jobe has recently made a huge jump in the PBR Overall Rankings, up nearly 200 spots, after showing a world class breaking ball with a 3000-3300 spin rate at the Future Games. The breaking ball shows slurvy shape with devastating late depth at  77-79 mph, mostly strikes, thrown from the lame slot and same arm speed as the fastbal. The fastball keeps its plane at 86-89 mph. Jobe is also a capable infielder and right-handed hitter.

The third spot in the rankings continues to be held by Oklahoma State commit, C/RHP Ian Daugherty (Kingfisher). Daugherty is also up about 50 spots in PBR Overall Rankings after a successful summer. A durable 6-foot-2, 190 pound frame with some strength throughout. With a strong and very accurate arm (1.94-2.07 showcase pop times) and advanced receiving and blocking skills, Daugherty could currently handle most college pitching staffs and control college running games without much trouble. Offensively, the right-handed hitter shows barrel control with some pop to all fields. Daugherty's best tool is his all around baseball IQ and feel for the game.

Risers

Over the last two months, a few players have shown impressive growth and have shot up the list. Below are a few of them.

Carson Benge, 3B/RHP, Yukon HS
A 6-foot-2, 160-pound projectable athlete with wiry strength with lots of room to add more. Benge jumps in our rankings after a very strong showing at the OK Fall Underclass Prospect Games. The left-handed hitter already shows a polished approach and advanced barrel control which will continue to play well at higher levels. Benge posses an accurate arm at 84 mph across the diamond to go along with reliable hands at third base. Benge is also a capable right-hander, throwing strikes with heavy sink at 83-85 from a low ¾ slot. Already a high-end college prospect and up nine spots into the top 15 in the state, Benge could make another big jump if he frame fills out.

Jaxon McTyre, OF, Sallisaw HS
A compact and strong 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame, the uncommitted McTyre showed he could hang with the best in the country at the PBR OK Future Games. McTyre played for team Missouri since the OK outfield had filled up quickly for the event. McTyre posted some high measureables with a 91 mph exit velo and 87 mph outfield velo along with some timely hitting in the games. McTyre is up 22 spots in this rendition of the rankings.

Jackson Kennedy, RHP, Casady HS
A 6-foot-4, 170-pound projectable frame with long limbs, Kennedy jumps 55 spots after shows a jump in velo and command at the OK Fall Underclass Prospect Games. The right-hander now features a fastball that sits 81-84 mph, flashing some arm side run and filling up the strike zone. The curveball is also throw for stikes at 71-73 mph and late depth.

Newcomers

The PBR Oklahoma staff is always out and on the lookout for talented players across the state, and we pride ourselves on constantly evaluating and discovering new players. Below are three new players that made a big splash over the last few months.

Kaden Wickersham, RHP, Southmoore HS
A long, loose, and projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame with lots of room to continue to add size and strength, Wickersham enters the rankings in the top 35. Though a solid player on both sides of the ball, Wickersham’s future shines brightest on the mound. The right-hander features a fastball at 82-85 mph with consistent arm-side run and strikes. As a position player, Wickersham shows a strong arm at 86 mph from the outfield, runs a 7.13 60, and an 85 mph exit velo.

John Ruthard, RHP, Deer Creek HS
A 6-foot-2, 165-pound long limbed frame with lots of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander sits 81-84 mph, touching 85 mph, with some downhill tilt and mostly strikes. His curveball sits 61-67 with rolling action. Ruthard enters the rankings in the top 50.

Mason Wildman, 3B/RHP, Harrah HS
A durable 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame with some strength throughout, Wildman lists himself as a 3B first, but is more advanced currently on the mound. The right-hander shows a fastball that keeps its plane at 81-84 mph, filling up the zone. His curveball shows slurvy shape with some late depth at 69-72  mph. His changeup is thrown with full arm speed shows some fade at 77-78 mph. Offensively, Wildman shows a pull approach with and 83 mph exit velo.
