Ontario Insider: Tournament 12 - Ontario Green vs Alberta

Rogers Centre- In a game that was all about the pitching, neither team was able to break through offensively ending the game in a scoreless draw. Harley Gollert, Jacob English, and Nathan Holmes combined for seven shutout innings of hitless ball along with a combined 13 strikeouts between the three.

Offensively, Ontario Green was unable to back up its strong pitching, being held to only three hits the entire game, two of which came off the bat of second baseman, Ty Imeson.

After three innings, Gollert walked only one batter, striking out six, displaying great confidence in his secondary stuff, and keeping Alberta hitters off balanced at the plate. English came in to continue the job striking out three more batters over his two innings of work on just 18 pitches. English was able to create great spin on his breaking ball, while overpowering hitters with his heater.

Wrapping up the ball game, Holmes pitched two more strong innings, walking two guys while striking out four. With an over the top delivery, Holmes was able to take advantage of the downhill plane, dominating the Alberta hitters.
