What's New At The Top

Cameron DyckThe top four spots stay the same as Adam Hall, Cooper Davis, Landon leach, and Dondrae Bremner all stay put at their respective rankings. With some new grad year classifications, we see 6-foot-6 outfielder Tyrell Hebert move into the top ten, along with speedster Andrew Leggo crack the top ten.

In the top 15, we see 6-foot-1, 172-pound right-hander Cameron Dyck (pictured right) takes a big jump up along with left-handed hitting outfielder Alex Orenczuk. Orenczuk has always had a nice swing and is starting to fill out strength wise. Dyck has a loose arm and has continued to get better every time we see him.

THE RISERS

Liam HicksAlong with Dyck and Orenczuk, many players made jumps in the rankings. Typically, this is the time players begin to show results from hard work in the off-season and additional maturation to their bodies and game.

Infielder Bryce O’Farrell and catcher Liam Hicks (pictured right) both see their ranking status climb into the top 20. Each player shows promise at the plate while O’Farrell is also a slick fielding infielder who shined this past year at third base.

5-foot-8 infielder Kian Bukula has improved his strength and swing over the off-season and has moved up into the top 30. He is an athletic infielder with sound actions on both sides of the ball.

Another player to make a big leap is infielder and Canisius commit Jacob Martins. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound middle infielder swings it from the right-side with bat speed and aggressiveness. He shows clean actions with arm strength defensively and should continue to only get better.

THE NEWCOMERS

We see a lot of new faces in this rendition of the 2017 rankings with players coming out of the gates strong with good winters under their belts.

Outfielder Riley Perks, a strong and physical 6-foot, 192-pound left-handed hitter makes an appearance. He swings with natural loft with lots of bat speed and power potential.

Right-hander Nate Holmes is a projectable 6-foot-4, 200-pounder that was 84-85 this year and shows signs of promise and added velocity.

Also another righty to work his way into the rankings is small but athletic Jordan Bahnuk. The 5-foot-9, 140-pound athlete was 85-86 mph with live arm during his bullpen at the College Prospect Showcase in January. His arm works and should be more to come.

Infielder who has also shown improvements over the winter is Matt Turino. The scrappy 5-foot-10, left-handed hitter shows quick hands at the plate with a dirtbag approach like his older brother and Cincinnati commit Luke Turino. Matt will be a player to keep an eye on closely.
