PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
FOSS: I chose Parkland because I felt it was the best option for myself. I feel like the coaches and resources there are what I need to make it to the next level.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
FOSS: I didn’t have many options until this summer. I had interest from a couple small D1’s and some D2 schools. I was really only considering other juco’s coming into this fall because of the cost effectiveness and the potential to play instantly; the only other schools I was considering were Iowa Central, Southwestern CC, and Indian Hills.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
FOSS: I saw them this fall at the Kernels Tournaments in Cedar Rapids. I introduced myself to him and the next day they came to watch me throw and contacted me a few days after. I went on a visit and heard their philosophy on the game and I was hooked.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
FOSS: Yes and no. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about a school anymore but I also know I have to keep working harder every day if I want to reach the level I want be at before Parkland and beyond.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
FOSS: Yes, Coach Goebel is the head coach and pitching coach. He has a long history of getting pitchers to the next level and with the recourses available at Parkland I think I will have everything I need to reach my full potential.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
FOSS: A lot of people really. Off the top of my head- my parents of course, my pitching coach I’ve had since I was 9, Mitch Wylie, my travel team coaches, my high school coaches especially- Coach Heitmeier and Coach Mikesell, all my friends for always pushing me, and my family for everything they’ve done.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
FOSS: I expected it to be a lot more straight forward. Truth is it was hard to find a school I was truly interested in and was interested in me back.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
FOSS: Not 100% sure but I know I need to be at the level my first season to go and compete for an important role in the rotation. I would imagine they have a lot of hard work and development in mind for me for my first season.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
FOSS: I had a lot of amazing moments this summer with my teammates. Mostly my no hitter v ADM and my first homer back in 2018.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
FOSS: There were a lot of ridiculously talented kids in Jupiter that I competed against. Dylan Crews is the first that comes to mind.
