Pitchers
Bullis LHP Sammy Senders should have a big year as part of a talented rotation at Bullis aiming to win the IAC this season...Jake Paulishak will be a big contributor for Middletown HS team that could turn some heads this 2017 season. Paulishak is a big arm that still has room to grow and he should anchor the staff...Reservoir has their own imposing righty in senior Max Goron. He will give the Gators an opportunity to win every time out as they hope to return to their state championship form of 2014...Defending 4A state champ Bel Air will once again contend this season and Mike Yetter will play a big part of that run...Yetter's future teammate at Mount St. Mary's is Spalding righty Jordan Geber, who we think is going to contribute in a big way for the Cavaliers this year as they shoot to make it four-in-a-row in the MIAA...We think Curley has the potential to contend in the MIAA this season, and if that happens, Jeff Calderon could be the arm that does it for the Friars.
Catchers
McDonough backstop Peyton Myers is one of the more underrated catchers in the state, and will be one of the top catchers in the SMAC. His offensive production should increase even more in 2017...An under-the-radar Century team this season will be headlined by ODU commit Michael Marrale who provides a good balance both on the defensive and offensive end.
Infield
Severna Park table setter Scott Huntley is going to be a key piece to the Falcons this 2017 season and should score plenty of runs ahead of big hitter Kody Milton...Kristan Curry Jr. is the key piece for Avalon if they wish to win the Old Line. He will be the consistent piece in the middle of the field and middle/top of the order...Good Counsel SS Joey Goodwin will play a big role providing consistency in the order and in the middle of the field as GC hopes to win the WCAC this season...AJ Holcomb provides a big offensive threat in the Loyola Blakefield lineup and should have a big season in 2017.
Outfield
The fastest player in Maryland, Josh Netterville creates havoc on the bases and should have a big year on what could be a surprise Northwest team this 2017...Bethesda-Chevy Chase will get another big year from their leader in the outfield Sebastian Mieses...Staying in Montogomery County, we see Ethan Wentzlaf as a breakout candidate this 2017 for a Damascus team wanting to make it back to the 3A state tournament.
Two Way
The lone 2019 making All State is INF/RHP Thomas Keehn at DeMatha. This talented young man for the Stags we think will get a lot of time in the lineup and on the mound for an overall young DeMatha team wanting to shake the WCAC up in 2017...Spalding will be led by third year starter Nick Vermillion in 2017 and he could see an increased role on the mound for the Cavs this year on top of his already stellar defense and consistent bat at third base...Trey Lipscomb will provide a presence both on the mound and at short for an Urbana team that could make a jump in 2017 in a deeper Frederick County conference.
