PBR Michigan Spotlight Game: Birmingham Seaholm vs Birmingham Groves

Birmingham Seaholm Maples took on the Birmingham Groves Falcons in the District Semi Final for the right to battle Birmingham Brother Rice in the District Final.

Seaholm sent their 2018 LHP Justin Miller to the mound. Miller surrendered a couple walks in the first but did not give up a hit in the first two innings while striking out 4 batters. Seaholm led off the 2nd inning with single to center field by Tucker Pfaff but failed to capitalize on the early hit.

2018 Chaise Ford drew a led off walk for Groves in the top of the 3rd, and advanced to 2nd on a balk. 2017 John Kowalchuck drove a deep sac fly to right field, moving Ford to 3rd. 2017 Zavier Warren drilled a fastball to centerfield that was caught allowing Ford to tag up and put Groves on the board.

Both Groves and Seaholm played great defense allowing no runs and minimal hits through the next couple innings.

In the top of the 7th 2017 Josh Yunker reached on an infield error and stole second base. Ford placed a beautiful drag bunt down the third base line for a single placing runners at the corners. Seaholm intentionally walked Warren to load the bases. Yunker scored what turned out to be the game's final run on a bases loaded walk to 2016 Josh Roberts.
