PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Ryan: I chose Nebraska because it felt right. I put a note in my phone in 2019 saying I wanted to play college baseball at Nebraska, so when I got the chance I couldn’t pass it up.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?

Ryan: I’m not sure where the coaches first saw me but our relationship developed over the phone because of Covid I couldn’t meet in person. So it was definitely a different recruiting process for me than others, but the relationships with the coaches made it easy.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Ryan: Being close to home really helped me make my decision, and growing up a Nebraska fan also was a deciding factor as well.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Ryan: My parents and coaches definitely helped me get to where I am today. My parents because they have been there through everything and have taken and helped me through my entirely baseball career. The coaches that have helped me the most have definitely been Coach Dunn and Coach Napoleon. Dunn has helped me in not only baseball but has helped me become a better person as well. Coach Napoleon has helped me develop as a pitcher and has also taught me how to think and act like a pitcher as well.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Ryan: Getting recruited as a sophomore and not being able to have coaches reach out to me first was hard and stressful. I didn’t really have any expectations either because I had no clue what the recruiting process was like or what it was supposed to be like.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Ryan: My most memorable baseball memory was either winning state with my win over Skutt and then my catch against Waverly. Or going to the Area Code Underclass games in LA last year.
PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Ryan: The best player I’ve played with was Max Clark and the best player I’ve pitched against is Gavin Grahovac, both at Area Code last summer.
