PBR New England Spotlight Game: Bishop Guertin vs Alvirne

In the New Hampshire State Semifinals game between Bishop Guertin and Alvirne, Bishop Guertin RHP DJ Increpera faced off against Alvirne RHP Matt McKinley.

Increpera had success throughout by pitching to contact in his 6.1 innings of work. Both pitchers threw a scoreless 1st before Bishop Guertin rallied for 3 runs in the top of the 2nd inning cutting McKinley’s day short.

Dan Brown came on to pitch for Alvirne in the 2nd and was able to stop the Bishop Guertin offense from getting anymore runs until the top of the 5th when they scored 2 more runs to make their lead 5-1.

In the 7th, both offenses scored a run before the game resulted in a 6-2 win for Bishop Guertin.

DJ Increpera had a nice day on the mound giving up just 3 hits and 2 earned runs in the outing. He relied heavily on his defense throughout striking out only 2 batters. He seemed in control of the game from the first pitch by letting the Alvirne hitters get themselves out.

Dan Brown came on to pitch for Alvirne in the 2nd and gave up just 3 runs in his 5.1 innings pitched. His arm angle was over the top which allowed his 12-6 curveball to be effective.
