PBR New England Spotlight Game: Newton North vs Pope Francis

In the game between Newton North and Pope Francis, Newton North 2017 RHP Jimmy Hodgson faced off against Pope Francis 2017 RHP Kristopher Alvarado.

It was a pitchers duel through the first 3 innings with zeros across the board until the Newton North offense scored 2 runs in the top of the 4th and 5 in the top of the 5th to give them a 7-0 lead.

Pope Francis answered in the bottom of the 5th scoring 3 runs to reduce their deficit but the Newton North offense continued to stay hot in the 6th scoring 4 more runs.

In the bottom of the 7th the Pope Francis offense sparked some life scoring 3 runs cut the Newton North lead to 5.

With 2 innings to play, Pope Francis was unable to get the bats hot again losing the game 12-7.

Jimmy Hodson had a fine day on the mound giving up no runs in his 4 innings of work. Hodson had command of the game throughout his four innings and worked well with his catcher.

Kristopher Alvarado had a strong start in the first 3 innings giving up no runs but the the Newton North offense got to him in the 4th scoring 2 and in the 5th by loading the bases before his day came to a close.
